I don't know what film festival was going around that time or even if there ever was one, its probably all made up in one of the developers heads.

So its not the Cannes film festival. :hmmm:

Actually, this game is ALL about the realism. Generally, you show me a military man of that era and I'll show you an isolationist American who'd be lucky to find either on a map.

As an amateur historian of the WW2 especially american subs and british subs and Uboats, I always strive for accuracy

The wording of something makes it difficult to get the point sometimes. For example: With your title "Who Writes These" I was first thinking you are asking for who is writing a thesis about submarines or similar :)
Not too bad an idea because Subsim certainly contains all the stuff for gathering information.
