A desperate, bloody war in Texas

I live in an rural area that is surrounded by woods and fields, the few houses are spaced out with lots of room. Naturally, wild animals like racoons, armadillos and deer make forays into the area under the cover of darkness. I don't mind that but I do have a problem with wild feral hogs, they come in and root up the yards, turning it into a scarred, muddy wasteland. I put up a game camera and the very next night...

here porky here porky pow not many neighbors im sure they wouldn't mind the pow but if so get a bow or get some traps cover with grass put some signs out so people wont go though the area if you got dogs figure a way to keep them out of it course when the trap nails their foot they going go hog wild smack in the head with a sledge hammer but that a good thing about living in a country setting unless there a game warden around or a nosey neighbor you can get away with stuff take into garage clean buried skin what-not then they can't prove you didnt get the meat from a shop or store

Berlin. Capitol of the hog republic. Its a miracle that not more violent clashes happen there. When i say they roam districts of the city by hundreds of animals, its not an exaggeration. Often in daylight. In populated streets. In traffic. Like other cities have ducks in the parks.

Clever animals. Vefy intelligent, they can assess situations very well. I like them, though not in these Berlin ways of life.
Its just like with bears. Never get positioned between a mum and her kids. That reads trouble.

It is their world, too. No one gives a sh!t about their natural environment and resources.

Yep, it was their back garden long before humans invaded it, knock all the buildings down and move somewhere else, preferably on another continent. :haha:

just get a 308 with good IR Scopes and have some fun!! :yep:
Getting rid of the carcasses would be a pain though, we have the same problem here in Australia with feral pigs, they do make a mess!

Can't shoot late at night, people don't like that when they're sleeping :)

Plus, IR scopes cost $4000, I would ratcher tackle the pigs with a kitchen knife than cough up that kind of cash !

Thinking about buying a crossbow....

You would be surprised what a modern air rifle can do these days. Even a poor man’s Hatsan .25 cal behind the ear at 15 yards could drop that critter dead in its tracks. Silent But Deadly.

What are you saying? I need to leave and let the hogs take over? :D I pay property taxes and they don't. :shucks:

Yeah, that's a good idea, Les. I think a crossbow would do the trick. And it is legal to kill feral hogs all year, day or night.
