OM - Harder Escorts

Hi Guys, Its been a while (few years) since I have got back into this, but all fired up and ready to go. I have a couple of questions:
1: What is the difference with 'Harder Escorts L1 & L2?... is there a thread about it/them??
2: I've also loaded up DBSM_SH4 + Speech fix... but why am I hearing 'USA' comments - i.e. Yes sir etc??
3: Is there a different 'German speech Mod' available that works with OM??

Many thanks Brigodoon..

OM_Harder_Escort is a mod to change the AI behavior of Convoy Escorts in OMv720. There are two versions, L1 and L2, with the only difference between the two is at L2 has modified escort hydrophones/sonar and L1 doesn’t. In both cases the escorts have become more “aggressive” and with each passing year of the war get harder and it should also be noted that L2 can be “very” difficult.
Taken from lurker_hlb3's ReadMe - I can't survive L1, much less L2... :timeout: It's about like Tokko's Revenge on the Fleet Boat side. :D

I used to use that sound mod, but I cannot remember much about it anymore... Have you tried this one?

I am not familiar with it at all... :salute:

Nicht mehr 'yes sir,und vieles mehr Jawohl...! only problem now is figuring out 'passing thermal layer' :) .... Google translates to 'durchlaufende thermische Schicht...'
Thanks again Brig..

Get yourself Audacity (unless you've got a similar app on your computer), and get the recording side set-up to record a microphone. Even a cheap, little 1/8" plugged mic will do, since you're going to make a recording that will sound like it came across the internal comm device in a sub (squackbox). Record your audio line "durchlaufende thermische schicht" (or whatever) and save it as "Submarine_passing_thermal_layer_INT.wav" at 705kbps (44.1kHz Mono) 16-bit Windows wave file. You could either make a mod for JSGME (safest way), for like "ThermalLayer \ Data \ Sound \ Submarine_passing_thermal_layer_INT.wav" and activate it with JSGME, or backup the original file first, and then just copy the new one you made into the same location... :salute:

Edit: Forgot to mention, I don't think the German boats had anything like the US Fleet Boat's bathythermograph, and had to rely upon a thermometer against the side of the boat... I might be wrong there, but I do know that the Japanese boats didn't even have that...
