RAOBF in TDW MOD

Hello All,

I am wrong or not? seems the range read out from this RAOBF is alway a little shorter than it should be.:hmm2:

Have you enabled the correct resolution patch?

schnorchel 09-27-14 04:08 AM

My Screen is 16X9, I use wolves of steel mega MOD, wolves of steel 16X9 reolution patch was enabled already.:hmmm: I can only get the correct range readout by using the MOD made by myself. http://www.mediafire.com/download/bj...+steel1.02.rar

no one has tried this link I posted?:D

jokerwildcat 09-29-14 05:12 PM

I will try this link!

Thank you in advance...

EDIT: I like the new look to the RAOBF with your files, but unfortunately the measurements are still off. I use the practice RAOBF tutorial to check, and the mast height should read 10.4 but it still comes up as 11.9 even after your fix is applied (ie, no change with our without your fix applied).

I just switched to 8x5 resolution and everything works fine (although it's a compromise from what I want). There have been various random posts from people who have the same 16x9 resolution problem, but there hasn't been a definitive fix yet far as I can tell. I was hoping yours was it... really really hoping!

hi jokerwildcat,
thank you for the check, I do not change the reticle reading in my mod. I just change the inner circle's mark arrangement to garrantee the range you read is correct. besides I tweaked the center of the circles the make them more centered. Change the texture, and increase the view a little bit.

RAOFB scale?

Thank you schnorchel, you are a hero. I spent days searching for some solution and was going crazy thinking I was the only one with this problem

Your mod adjustment is just what I needed to make the ROAFB useful. I am now measuring with accuracy within 1% to 2% which is quite acceptable!

However I do need to ask about the red marker which appears to be labeled "1.5x" on your wheel. I assumed this was the reference if using the 1.5x magnification on the scope, but if so, I think it is in the wrong place.

The magnification ratio between 1.5x and 6x is 4:1 so for each mark in 1.5x you would count 4 in 6x. So the RAOFB reference line for the 1.5x should be where 1/4th of the value under the primary red reference line. In the case below I measured 12 clicks in 6x scope and 3 clicks in 1.5x scope. For the range to stay true the 1.5x reference should be down at the 3 on the middle inner ring. Roughly between the "n" and "m" of the phrase "Basis in meters" on the outer ring.

Would you be willing to make a change like this?

Godit,I am very glad that you like it, thank you for pointing out the 1.5x mark issue , I will address it soon.:D

My god...

So I recently got frustrated with SH5 and went back to SH3 and SH4 for a while. When I came back to check up on this 16x9 issue with the WoS mod, I discovered that you had actually solved this all along.

Here I was expecting the 'ticks' on the RAOBF to be the problem. It completely floored me to re-read your post and understand that you've measured the RINGS to work 16x9, something I didn't even test.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, so here's a belated AWESOME JOB on fixing this long pressing issue for me. I'll be diving back into SH5 immediately thanks to this.

Hey guys I am using this mod while running game at 1920x1200....do I need a resolution patch?I am noticing that my RAOBF range doesn't seem to match up with the stadimeter range but this could very well be just me and lack of skill with the wheel.if I use the stadimeter to get range and then use the RAOBF wheel to get AOB I usually hit.Just wondering if 16:10 is supported or not.

Afaik 16x10 is standard in WoS. If you run a different aspect ratio enable one of the provided resolution patches.

Great to know,thanks.:subsim:

Dear schnorchel!
I'd like to say my respect to you for your work!
So, i have made some measurements of speed with last version of your RAOBF and found inaccuracy! Sorry! :)
The point is marker of speed is between 25 and 26 on inner circle. More precisely 25.4.
My mesuarements gave me result is 24.8

So, i made a new marker! Also i made new scale for RAOBF!
What you say?
