@Charlie

From what I know the 109s were not equipped with droptanks during BoB causing their rather short combat time over the British Isle. I think they got them later.:hmm:

But great pictures non the less.:D

IIRC that's correct, the 109s only had about five-ten minutes combat time over the UK before "Red Light".

Great shots though

:yep: The 109E-7 was the first 109 to have drop tanks. :know:

Here are those pictures you wanted Kratos

Can't see a thing (Contrary to the chat messege):

You might say that the weather was not as good as it was in Poland:

http://img224.imageshack.us/img224/9...9115062cz1.jpg

And, of course, business as usual:

http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/8...9123156yq3.jpg

We were tasked with escorting some bombers but we decided that there's no point dogfighting in those conditions (Winds were insane, blew my aircraft onto the taxiway as soon as the mission started and I had to take off in reverse) and the bombers weren't anywhere in sight so we RTBed after about 10 minutes

Kratos 07-25-08 12:48 PM

Ah well just another day at the office was it? ;)

Correct. Those are indeed Emil 7's, but at the time I took the picture I preferred flying the 7 to the 4 and there were a number of BoB skins for it ok il2skins oddly enough. I think I was also monkeying with the formation commands so I would equip drop tanks just to make that feature work.

Biggles 07-25-08 05:45 PM

Climb, you bastard! Climb, climb, climb, climb!

I've grown very fond of the B-25. It's a good crate, it doesn't get the attention it deserves.:yep:

Schroeder 07-25-08 05:49 PM

It's probably the bes bomber you can have in Il-2.
It's defensive weapons make it very dangerous for fighters. The only disadvantage is the empireal bombsight. The German ones can be adjusted more accurately.

Biggles 07-25-08 07:01 PM

To be honest, the main reason for my sudden acknowledge of the B-25 is because I've been reading Catch-22 lately. A masterpiece in my own eyes.

Too bad I'm so bad as a bombardier that even Yossarian has greater chances of hitting the targets, despite his ignorance towards the fact if he hits the target or not....

...and the result can be seen in the chat box :)

AI 109s in landing patter. There was a LOT more of them, but I didn't manage to get a good pic. Does anyone btw know what's the cause of those black areas? They always appear on the second sortie of the day(online and offline), and disappear only when a different map is loaded or IL2 is restarted.

Kratos 07-26-08 02:21 PM

@ Fincuan.. is that T.S. overlay u using? ie: the green text on screen. if it is,is it any good? does it show text ie: Dowly's text etc.

Fincuan 07-26-08 03:09 PM

Yep that's TS Overlay, and yes iirc it shows text too. I only started using it a few sorties ago, but so far it looks promising.
