Few shots from our 1st sortie on Warclouds last night with Hunter. The track became corrupted in the middle of the 2nd sortie, so you wont see Hunter's one wheeled landing, our daring raid to the enemy airfield (nothing beats strafing an landing spitfire ) nor our sortie with 190s in which I think we both bagged ourselves something.
Anyways, here's the 1st sortie. Both flying 110s, target defending duty in Q11. Taking off http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...et/Takeoff.jpg Forming up, with an escort. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e.../Formingup.jpg After a brief few minutes of flying we saw a big(ish) furball over the target, in this shot we are climbing up to identify a bogey. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...t/Climbing.jpg Aaaand then the poo hit the fan and a Tempest dived on us, scoring some hits to my port wing, holing it so I steered back to base. Hunter wasnt so lucky. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...wlyTempest.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...terTempest.jpg And landed, me to the airfield, Hunter all over the countryside. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...ret/landed.jpg |
Nice.
Was expecting a vid from you with some fancy effects. Anytime soon? |

Other than that, I'm all set! Surprisingly easy to use this, I tell you! The only thing is the simulation times are big, the last vid took ~50min to simulate. Fireball test (Nevermind the tearing, forgot one setting too high...) http://s230.photobucket.com/albums/e...t=fireball.flv And 2 small explosion tests http://s230.photobucket.com/albums/e...rrent=test.flv http://s230.photobucket.com/albums/e...=smoketest.flv Next I need to try this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ho_qDA8efsQ I also have the Dreamscape, which can make pretty nice sea scenes, so maybe I use a SHIV or SHIII ship model for it. :) |
Aye, nothing beats strafing a Spitfire,
but mate we flew 190's ;) and we both bagged a enemy aircraft on that sortie. about corrupting IL2 tracks, dont you think it might be the lenght of the tracks? that if you record for too long it gets easily corrupted...you might wanna cut the tracks in lets say ''per sortie'' also..whats up with the skins? I was flying that blueish skin of yours as well HunterICX |

Went in and had a unofficial sortie with some of the guys from JG53 last night. CAP over Stalingrad.
Finger Four on it's way. Val leading, on the left, Richter & me, on the far right, Bielson. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...ormation-1.jpg After circling the target area Val led us beneath the clouds to see if we could catch anything down there. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...nderclouds.jpg Didnt have to wait long. ACHTUNG INDIANER! BREAK! http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...BreakBreak.jpg Val passes the Soviet fighters and the chase is on. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...retheycome.jpg Chase for the kills that is. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e.../DowlyKill.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...t/ValKill1.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...t/ValKill2.jpg The enemy fighters were quickly taken down (Val 3 IIRC and I 1) and we headed home. Val landing first and taking control of the landing turns. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...Vallanding.jpg Number 7, you're cleared to land. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...wlylanding.jpg Bielson, come on in! http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...sonlanding.jpg Richter, hurry before the beer get's warm! http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...terlanding.jpg 4 Soviet fighters downed, with 2 own fighters damaged in landing. All alive, good sortie. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...erret/Back.jpg |
I'm not flying IL-2 actively anymore, but did spend some time (read: years) in that Betonflugzeug during a previous life nevertheless. This was a hardish gig - the flak over the target got a bit lively to say the least

ROFL! But you did survive so. ;) And heck, if I have to choose, I prefer flying both wings holed over just the other. Keeps the plane in balance. :p
