LWAMI or RA?

Which one to get?
Can I get a manual/readme for each?

Can I run both?

What do they both add to stock 1.04?

LWAMI improves some realism aspects of the game, but doesn't modify the core files of the game (per user agreement/terms), while RA is based more on gameplay modification, and does modify core files.

Running both is tricky, as LWAMI is deigned to allow other mods while RA is not. JSGME can allow both to be run, but only if the upgraded files from a RA install (over 1.04) are copied over to an individual folder within MODS (a folder created by JSGME) on a new fresh non-RA-modded install. LWAMI creates its own folder in MODS automatically during its own install.

I would consider Alfa Tau here as well, since it's a competitor to RA in gameplay enhancements and is also designed to be friendly with other mods, like LWAMI.

LWAMI didn't change much of anything when I played it.

What to RA and AT add?

You really need to explore the stock game, and then modded by LWAMI to see the differences. Improved models and weapon behavior are only the beginning.

The main difference of RA/AT is that other platforms become playable, including newly added ones in each mod. The ability to use nuclear weapons is another feature, although realistic nuclear explosions aren't modeled. RA also comes with some new missions tweaked or created specifically for RA.

Ok.

My next questions is what platforms do RA and AT make playable.

Theta Sigma 11-24-12 12:05 PM

Plenty, including choppers, surface vessels and boomers (Even Red October).

I am going to try for RA again.
