VON_CAPO 09-16-2005 11:16 PM

6th April 1945 Early Morning, South of Portsmouth Harbour
I was attacking a convoy and I hit a transport troop

The escorts saw my periscope

http://img398.imageshack.us/img398/4...07346hm.th.jpg

So, I took defensive measures

http://img393.imageshack.us/img393/1...30159zq.th.jpg

Yes!!! Right under the keel

But this generated an answer from others destroyers
The first deep charge is already in the water

A lot of them followed

ahh nice pics VON_CAPO , what was the max depth when you got DC:ed `?

Type941 09-17-2005 05:28 AM

VON_Capo, I think your post deserves its own thread as it's a whole patrol description! Cool pics! :know:

Farside 09-17-2005 06:22 AM

VON_CAPO is that the stock water? the water that comes with the game or is it edited to be more clear?

Thank you :). Only 46 meters. It was in the British channel.

I won't do it any more :-?. Thank you :).

Yes it is, no modifications at all. Notice that the action was in shallow waters (46 meters). That's the reason you see a clear image.

Type941 09-17-2005 11:31 AM

VonCapo - you don't get the point. I think that you have a whole story to tell, if you seen, like others did - they write like a patrol report. In a screenshot thread it will get lost I think. It wasn't criticism. A bit childish to say 'i won't do it anymore' - who am i to even tell you what you must or must not do! It was just a suggestion so that more people could see it.

Seeteufel 09-17-2005 12:00 PM

@ Twelvefield: Wow! :o

Your edited screenshot is a piece of art man, respect!
Lovely details, the oranges, the bacon and stuff, and also good "acting" by you, the expression on your face fits in the scene very well!

(...although bad guys might think you just sh*t your pants by the way you are looking around... ; - ) <-- please don't feel offended, just a joke! ;)

VON_CAPO 09-17-2005 12:48 PM

Type941, I got the point perfectly. I agree with you totally, it looks like a patrol description. So, when I said "I won't do it anymore" I was just manifesting a plain intention. Please notice, English is not my first language, so it's a necessity a dictionary beside me.
But I don't agree at all to the adjetive "childish". It is unnecessary.
Have my regards.

Type941 09-17-2005 07:32 PM

no harm done, internet, English as second language. :)

Here's a new sort of effect I worked up which imitates old photo in a way I like...

WOW! VON_CAPO!!!

Three cheers!!!

I hope your boat made it home... One officer can do it... he just has to be very busy.

Prost!

it is in game, yes. Passenger liner sinks.

Here is another perspective I haven't seen done previously. explosions from above (using Pascal's smoke and splash mods!)!

wish i could find passenger liners *envyous*

great pics mate

Type941 09-18-2005 07:13 AM

They are not PASSENGER liners. They are transport ships doing 25knts in a war time and have 24000tons of (according to mission editor): Freight, Ammunition, Fuel. ... :88)

That takes care of the moral side than. (j/k, but in the game..)

Farside 09-18-2005 08:10 AM

lol sry freighters... :P:P :-j

capt_frank 09-18-2005 12:07 PM

I seen one of them once. It was quite... impressive. :shifty:

Type941, those overhead shots are amazing. Is pascals particles really that good or is that good editing? :88) :rotfl:
