What are you going to do with your $1,200 stimulus check?

I'm staring to believe that most of us in the USA will get a stimulus check or better check direct deposit.

What are y'all going to do with your $1,200 minimum stimulus?

I think I'll improve my water system and perhaps increase my pantry keeping the rest in cash in case I need it later.

Coronavirus stimulus package: Who will get $1,200 checks and when will they be sent out?

One-time payments of up to $1,200 should start going out in the next three weeks to most Americans who file individual tax returns, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin says. Those who file joint tax returns will get up to $2,400
Plus $500 per child

The payments will be sent via direct deposit to Americans who already have provided the Internal Revenue Service with their bank account information. For those who haven’t, the checks will be mailed.

My eye got locked on the words "up to" Which I translate to.

It isn't sure that you will get 1200 $

I think I'll buy a nice bottle of wine. On second thought, maybe an AR-15 just to piss somebody off.

55 inch 4K TV, 4K disc player, and as many 4k movies as I can with whatever's left. :D

They say stimulate the economy, and I'm a patriotic American! :salute:

At least that's the plan. Reality may have other ideas.

I understand it will be based on your 2019 income. If you earned more than a set figure (I think $75K) you don't qualify for a check.

Unless you filed early before the virus crisis in 2020 then your tax return for 2020 will determine your stimulus check.

So if you made a lot in 2019 and the IRS knows it, but your filed early with a lot of ta deductions that put you in a lower bracket then you get the full $1,200 or $2,400 for joint filing for you and your spouse. :yep:

I believe that at 75K the amount you get starts going down by what you made over that amount.

I think you are right. I believe the cut off is anything over 99K

Which seems fair

I went ATV riding last night. Managed to flip it and blew up my knee pretty good. Unless the swelling goes down by tomorrow morning I'll probably have to have a doctor take a look at it. That'll mean getting tested for the virus I am guessing.

Upgrade my body armor and fighting rifle :) More mags, batteries, and ammo

In all reality, I doubt this will be "free money" so I'll probably come out of next year's tax return. I'll probably end up using it to pay bills so I have more of my regular money for.......mags, batteries, ammo etc :haha:

As I am considered "essential" and still actively employed (and even getting a bonus from my company for working during the CV-19 outbreak), if I do receive a check: I was thinking about either donating it to some worthy cause or using it to purchase goods which are sorely needed by other essential workers in my area. The latter being a more likely scenario, since I do have connections to the supply of such goods.

I have already used the connections I have to benefit some local essential personnel. And I would like to point out that I am one of those "deplorable" people who oppose big government. So, no matter how some choose to caricature us, it remains a fact that those who financially benefit the most from capitalism are also the biggest contributors to charitable causes.
