No Sound in steam SH III version

No Sound in SH III in Steam. Should I uninstall? re install? Is there some sort of a patch available?

First, check your playback devices.
Secondly, check the sound settings in the game menu.
And only then take drastic measures.

"playback Devices" ? do you mean video/ audio drivers?
