The Power of Sound
 

Just a note to say I enjoyed the power of using a G-7 acoustic torpedo against a British Corvette last night on war patrol out of La Rochelle.

Blew off his stern nicely.

A bit of caution in using them however, as I learned the hard way they will hear your boat instead of the target. I remember the first time I fired one, my smile turned sour as the damn thing turned around and came right for me.

I dove deep, turned everything off and watched from my cam as the torpedo ran right over my boat looking for me.

I'm sure in RL more than one Uboat fell to their own acoustic torpedo attack.
