GWX4 (Grey Wolves eXpansion Mod)

NEW GWX WEBSITE LAUNCHED

Due to the unavoidable but planned temporary absence of Kpt. Lehmann caused by RL demands, I am pleased to have the opportunity to announce the launch of the new GWX website.

The link at the bottom of the post was activated yesterday evening at 22:00 GMT.

As many of you no doubt are already aware, work on the Grey Wolves expansions for SH3 has always been an ongoing evolving process with our number one ambition/aim being to bring the sub simming community the best mod possible for those with a preference for U-boat warfare.

The next chapter of our journey has seen us replace what was already an excellent dedicated website with a completely new one.

This site is more detailed and comprehensive than its predecessor and was developed with the following in mind:

- Create an extensible website, which can easily accommodate future additions in a simple navigation structure.

- Improve the written instructions for installing GWX3 Gold on XP and Vista, along with FAQs (more to be added over time) and contact methods to get further help.

- A member map location section is now included.

- Make it clearer to potential new users what the GWX add-on is.

- Summarise the history and aims of the GW team and the GWX add-on.

- Provide a more comprehensive online summary of GWX3 Gold's features,
including legacy features from earlier versions of GWX.

- Include more in-game screenshots to show GWX3 Gold in action.

- Evolve the GW branding, to celebrate our achievements in the build up to the release of GWX4.

- Provide a preview of some of the exciting work the GW dev team has produced to date for GWX4 (to be updated over time).

It would be very remiss of me not to state the following:

The Grey Wolves have always and continue to work as a team.
Everything that is released has been as a result of a team effort, whether it be the techno mage who creates/builds, the person who creates the animation, the individual who creates the skins, the crew member who tests it, the organiser of it all etc…..it is all part of the combined effort….an effort from a group of ‘equals’.

We strongly adhere to the principle “None of us are as clever as all of us”

Despite the above philosophy, I want to make just one small deviation here…I would like to publicly thank Diving Duck for hosting our website and Viking Grandad for creating it on behalf of all the team. Without them this post would not be possible.

~SALUTE~ DD and VG http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...s/thumbsup.gif

Finally….you will no doubt notice upon closer inspection of the site, work that is in early stages of development for GWX4 and if you look closely enough, a short preview movie.

These works are WIP and far from being the finished article, so please don’t expect a detailed debate and comprehensive responses from the team.

GWX4 is still in ‘silent running’ mode and the purpose of this thread is solely to announce the release of the new GWX website, nothing more.

Spectemur Agendo Grey Wolves

Best Wishes to you all

Because of the introduction to what you have been working on.

I'm not talking about the concept video. Though it has its cool moments :yep:, I got a small laugh, when the camera was schrolling to the right and I saw a modern car driving by in the background... :haha::har:
I'm sorry, but I have seen too many movies to not notice this small things too...

Yeah, it was a hard decision to make , but we thought it still worth sharing because it was the very first effort and we didn't want to show the newer version, the one with the space shuttle launching in the background :DL

The page has long been added to favorites here, but from that time it has been updated, I can't stop myself from visiting this web almost every hour now . Sorry, I guess I'm addicted to it :)
