So, since the game got me into deeper depths than I've been ever before, some more question came up.

After ID`ing an enemy sub you can see its depth pretty accurately.
I this realistic? I mean I assume that you must have a good signal on it, too, but is this technically possible to determine the subs depth at great distances? At least the enemy seems to lack this ability. When I play the seawolf and the enemy is close to the surface, the torpedo will never find me, because they are always going straight. That is why I prefer the LA now in the 2000 campaign.
Is there a mod that already took care of that?

And if you know about depth detection for all 3 periods (60's 80's 2k's) please let me know.:Kaleun_Salute:

Depending on the array you hold the submerged contact, you can more or less determine depth pretty well

It really does not matter on the array. You cannot accurately determine a submerged target depth. The best you can do is determine if it is above or below the layer, if there is one.


This is basic physics and how sound propagates through the medium. Its not science fiction or the movies.
