Wednesday's school night for me, but guess I can manage it. :yep:

Wednesday is fine for me.

Herr-Berbunch 04-11-11 02:43 PM

Thursday should be ok, I may be a bit late to the party though :woot:

Arclight 04-13-11 01:21 PM

Right, here's the deal:

http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...prisingjpg.jpg
  • Blue area near Adler indicates our base.
  • Green area N of that is a free-fire zone. You'll find several groups of trucks there to practice on.
  • Blue area to SE indicates a carrier. It goes along the coast and can be used to resupply.
  • Blue area to NE indicates a FARP.
  • Red areas indicate target zones. Objectives are described in the briefing.
There's a friendly convoy that sets off for the enemy airbase in an attempt to capture it. If they succeed, that base should become available to us for resupply. An enemy convoy is doing the same to us, but in practical application ours wipes out theirs, so no worries. Still a good idea to clear a path for those guys, and soften up defenses around the airbase. Extra airfield is nice and, you know, providing CAS is what the Ka-50 is all about.

For just flying, I figured to follow the river departing N, skirting the Georgian border. At the end of it, cross over a ridge and follow another river to the FARP. Should make for interesting piloting.

Load out is 100% fuel with no weapons, save the cannon. Be sure to rearm and take drop tanks or weapons, depending on what you're planning to do. ;)

Put it up in half an hour to sneak in some practice, don't expect anything coordinated before 22:00-22:30

Basically a ramp start, take-off, low-level scenic flight and a landing. I'll set up basic firing ranges at both the start and end locations, so people who just want to mess around a bit before or after can head over there.

I'm thinking about only setting up the flight lead with a flightplan, so wingmen will have to practice their navigation and formation flying. (not expecting tight formation, just keep in contact with flight lead)

You don't have to be familiar with the weapons deployment, but of course a decent understanding of flying it is desireable. For example, if we fly the Ka-50 over a mountain ridge, it's a good thing to know where the anti-icing switch is at. Also, you don't have to be familiar with airport procedures. For example, if you want to do a rolling take-off and a landing from hover, then that's up to you. Not going to force anyone to stick to exact procedure.

Both TeamSpeak2 and TeamSpeak3 servers are available.

I would suggest Wednesday or Thursday nights, perhaps both if there's enough interest. Could do Ka-50 one night and A-10C the next.

Anyone interested?

I'm in....:salute: PM me

Arclight 04-14-11 09:05 AM

I'll host A-10C tonight, Ka-50 went well enough last night. Just need to prepare something. :hmmm:

Herr-Berbunch 04-14-11 11:06 AM

Looks good, I'll be the smoking tangle of metal just off the runway!

Had a quick go of the tutorials yesterday and learnt that you can take off with the canopy open - when I say open, it detaches half-way down the runway. Flight envelope unaffected :yeah:

Arclight 04-14-11 01:28 PM

Alrighty, here's the deal for the A-10C:
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j.../uprising2.jpg
  • blue for friendly airbase
  • red for targetzone
  • green for free-fire zone
  • the black bit... well, that's a Tor battery. Don't stray to the W from the targetzone and you'll be fine. Just a little something to make you think about ingress and egress points.
Weather is pretty much the same as for the Ka-50 setup.

If anyone needs me, I'll be on the parking eating pizza.

Well that was a laugh!

Wish TS had been better for me. Found the screenshots, they're in a user's saved game folder like SH3 does :damn:

Here's a few for you.

Arclight just landed as we're holding.

Maybe have a look at what devices are set for input and output. Maybe set a push-to-talk key to make sure it's not the open-mic that messing up. Server is ussually online, so you can test to your hearts content.

A-10, drift racing variant.

We had a nice take-off in close formation on the 2nd sortie, but the track goes haywire if you watch PGM being released from external view (only for your aircraft though, other clients are fine. Speeding up time might help to screw it up. Anyway). Managed to grab those before that, but missing some really good stuff.

Dowly 04-15-11 05:00 AM

Yeah, speeding up the track might cause it go out of sync. It's kinda like in Silent Hunter; too large TC and stuff fails to keep up.

HunterICX 04-15-11 05:20 AM

Task Force and I played a DCS:BS combat mission yesterday which is quite good.

it's called Pandora's Box but the mission is in Spanish, I'll try to translate the best I can and send it to you Arc.

thought there's a minor issue with spawning it seems you can't spawn more then 1 Kamov on the same carrier unless you want to have instant KABLOOIE!

so one has to wait spawning untill the other has taken off.
is that fixable?

anyway the mission has 2 objectives,

Main Objective is a small port with some ships and soft ground targets, the secondary is search & destroy a enemy Farp
enemy air targets to be expected thought.
