New Cadet intro and very impressed

Hi All, I'm glad that I found this BBS and I would like to post a short introduction about myself. I'm from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

One of my hobbies are HAM Radio and retrocomputing (hobby of using old computers today). Yesterday, while I was goggling instructions on how to use the Enigma Machine, Google brought me to this amazing How to use the Enigma Machine - SUBSIM Radio Room Forums tutorial. And this is how I discovered this BBS.

I like Simulation software and I'm a regular with Flight Simulator X in VATSIM network. In the past I've also briefly experimented with Ship Simulator Extremes -- not I accomplished anything useful with it.

I'm totally new (slash idiot) with submarine simulation, and I hope that soon I will discover a WWII submarine game, preferably with a Radio Room where I can practice some Enigma decoding online! (but now I think I got a bit ahead of myself...)

From the clips I saw on YouTube (and on the thread above), I'm considering Silent Hunter V.

Thanks

WELCOME ABOARD! :sunny:

Silent Hunter 5 is a good game, but in our Silent Hunter 3 forums there is actually a group of players dedicated to using the Enigma.

hi from newbie

I'm not a 'gamer' but there's something about simulation games that are so absorbing. I've purchased SHV and came upon your excellent forum ...when trying to right the frustrating aspects of the game .I'm a little rusty with regards to many aspects of downloading mods, but what I've seen the future looks bright. I may not be a regular visitor but when I eventually sort things out I hope to be able to contribute some more useful postings.Hope to reach Kiel Harbour before too long ,now I've managed time compression ::haha:
