210 isn't near deep enough. Go deeper, one knot speed, silent running. |

EVEN IF they never know I'm there in the first place, like if I sit way in front of the convoy and just wait for them to cross my path, the A.I will just have a ****ing precognition that I'm sitting at 100m down and quiet as death itself, as if they can see through the water lol |

But the A.I will still just have a clairvoyant moment of knowing exactly where I am, even if they were never alerted in the first place |

You said you were at 210 meters. Again, that is not near deep enough. You also said you were traveling at 2 knots. Anything above one will get you detected every time. They don't need to be "alerted in the first place"; doing this will let them know where you are, as it should be, and finding you is there job. Also, sitting in front of a convoy is one of the easiest ways for them to detect you. Come in from the side. |
I don't think he knows that Onealex mod is a hardcore version difficulty wise of GWX 3.0. Alex tailored it to his likes and what he sees as realistic, if you find it too hard then i'd recommend just normal GWX 3.0 gold mod. The players who have played GWX 3.0 through the years find it too easy or know the 'tricks/tips' and Alex's increased stats make it a nice challenge for experienced players to get inside/in front of a convoy. So you either edit files yourself to make it easier (if you know how to) or just play regular GWX 3.0 mod which is much more forgiving.

Another bit of info; the submerged attack was NOT the preferred nor recommended method of attack including well into 1944. It was far more dangerous to a u-boat vs. a surface attack.
Attack on the surface at night, even if it means delaying your attack for hours until night arrives. |
What is the table labeled Klarung in the attack scope view for.

How about your aspect angle ? Believe it or not, the escorts in the game are dumb as bricks and easily to escape from, etc. But hey, what do I know. :ping: |
Hi, I dont know if this is feature of GWXonealex or also for LSH3 but I dont think make sense that the ocean or sea colour is nearly black while the sky is clear blue, if this is the case please do you know if there is a mod which fix this flaw?, below I attach few photos for comparison, thank you

Pretty sure even real life escorts had problems when boats ran that deep, much less IN A STORM like I was :k_confused: Idk just seems like horse **** to me, if I knew how to change it I would |

In a storm no less; that is strange. Along with the .exe file, the sim.cfg and ai_sensors.dat files control the ai. The last two can be tweaked, the first one cannot. But trying to tweak them can very quickly lead to a dog chasing it's own tail scenario and can cause more problems than it solves. Personally, I'd advise against it. Maybe consider trying a different install, see if it's easier and if so use that experience to gain knowledge about tactics, game mechanics, etc. Even stock if desired, nothing wrong with that. That's not meant as an insult. Everyone started there at some point and if it results in your enjoying the game, it's not a bad goal. |
Another thing about those DD is: did they drop the whoop right on your head? Like one right after the other? Or maybe they dropped 2 to 4 cans, and then started hunting around, maybe dropping a few more cans here and there? They're trying to panic you. The game sometimes seems like it is setting you up to hit Ahead Flank because of a drop, and then you do give yourself away, whereas if you just keep quiet and putt-putt along, you'll see they don't really "know" where you are... although the game does, because it knows all about everything SH3... Be very judicious with Time Compression also. Sometimes it seems that the game will punish you for having used TC, and you'll be almost a mile away from the DD, and decide to come back to 1x to check your sonar, and boom-boom-boom, there they are right on top of you. Coincidence?... hmmm...
Most of us just blame it on Bernard... he's the one that dropped the wrench that made all the noise... he's also been found in the after torpedo room banging on the pipes... |

About sonar. Every time you load your a career via SH Commander there are random settings of sonar. Also the thermal layer depth is randomized. I did that to simulate different conditions like storm, different water density, different sonar setting etc. So everytime during destroyer attack you will not shure what is the safe zone )
|
Also the game's escorts, etc. have two states; non-alert and alert. The alert status gets brought on by various things. I.e., torpedo a ship, get seen visually, heard/found submerged, etc.
Once in alert status they are more likely though not guaranteed to find you again, even if they briefly lose you. It can also and usually does cause other escorts to come join in the hunt many times without you even knowing they're there. |
