Sicillian Wedding question
I'm about to try a shot at the Sicilian Wedding mission from SubGuru, but before I start can anyone tell me whether or not TLAMs are required to complete the mission and if so how many should I equip? I'ld hate to get 10 hours into the mission and realize that I have to start over because I didn't equip enough.... :o :damn: :)
Anyone know? |
I am going into that one as well.
Spoiler........................................... ..... I am not sure however how we can be successful at no being detected by the OHP in the Tango area when our SAO needs to be pretty high to be at the North East corner. Any tricks.... Bill..... Thanks |
I've gotten past the OHP pretty handily. If you launch a XBT it will should a pretty handy surface duct to hide under. I hit about 1000 ft and 12 knot SOA and snuck past the OHP pretty easily. The tricky part is not coming up above the layer while the OHP active sonar is pointed directly at you; if close enough he will ping you even if your nose is away. There's alot of luck to it.
still not sure about the TLAMs. I equipped 4 just in case and hopefully that'll be enough to play through the entire scenario. |
If you are playing it accurately you'd stock up with TLAMs only as they don't carry TASMs any more so that should help.

TLAMs are not required. |
I've also got a question:
*Spoiler Warning* At one time in the mission you're told to photograph a Sub. I tried it (yes I was in range ) but I didn't score any points for it. Does anybody know why? |
I had the same thing with the sub photographing. But my experience is only from SC 1.08+SCXIIc. Don't know what Bill did to the DW version. Also it's been quite a while (2 years) since I fixed it for myself. So I don't know exactly which goal number it is.
--------------- spoiler ------------------------------------ In my game the problem was that the goal won't trigger unless ownship is at or above a certain minimum depth. And this depth was shallower than the 688i's periscopedepth setting. Unless I manually ordered a shallower depth the goal didn't trigger. So I edited the mission to the required depth setting. |

Did you check your radio messages afterward? |
Did you mean the message saying that HQ confirms that I've been trailing a french Sub? Yes, I got that one but the "Photograph the Sub" mission is not completed.
|
For the photo part...for me it was a full blown bug. I could not get it to work no matter how mandy different variations I attempted to fix the problem. I finally "fixed" the issue by editing the mission file. Instead of "photograph sub," I believe I changed that part of the goal to "mark sub with periscope." Seemed like a reasonable fix.

The best show on Earth!!
Battlestar Galactica!!! |
Bill I recently downloaded this mission for SC and i think you have changed it.The original scenario for Gaeta harbour was to sink two static merchantmen then escape out of the harbour pursued by asw helicopters.I always thought this was a very tough but rewarding mission. The current mission seems to have been rewritten. Can you still supply the old one?

I think it was a software anomaly. It would not populate the area with the appropriate items.I have loaded it again and it is all there now.I didn't honestly think you had made it that easy Bill!
|
So finally was there an answer to how we are supposed to take a picture of that French sub, because for myself too it just doesn't work.....
Too bad I loved that scenario so far. Hopefully somebody has an answer Bill... Thank you |
Ok,
So I am guessing there are nothing we can do about those sub picture (French sub).. Because it's just doesn't work. Too bad |
Ok then,
Didn't really have an answer, so I guess this is a bug. I will carry on this mission without achieving this goal |
I think you need to get within 4000 yards of it with the scope up and take a picture.Sometimes the rubis is submerged but it can be done!
