MORE missing reflections
What do you guys notice???
To be more exact, TypeVII on the left, TypeIX on the right... http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...%20misc/37.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...%20misc/38.jpg Yo, sergbuto, or anyone else... will it be possible for you to get in on this?? |
Most of the Radio Wire reflections are missing too.. although a few can be seen with some of the Type II boats...

Yes, I notice some missing reflections on pericope and radio wires too.
BTW, Duke of Earl, do you not check your private messages? I send one to you a few days ago and the message still are in my 'sent box'... :D :hmm: Rubini. |

I see it first time :hmm:
Sergbuto, you can repair it, of course, can't you? :) BTW, SH3 has many bugs - do we know about everything? |

It's good to know that we can now (thanks to Sergbuto et al) fix most of these errors. |
While we're at it - what about a reflecting crew? I kind of miss them from the reflections :hmm:
|
Hehe, and while we're at it... sergbuto, if you're already not too busy as it is, could you explain to us how you are making things reflect? Is it possible for anything to be reflected in the water?
If we know how you do it, then we can figure out of we are making "ludicrous" reflection requests... And we sure don't want that... :yep: |
Yeah. It would, for example, be great to get proper sun and moon reflections into the game.

A while ago I actually tried to take a look at the moon reflections but couldn't get the moon in single missions. What are the actual weather settings which will give the visible moon at night?
|
There's a crescent moon in the Scapa Flow mission that rises at about 5am. The Gibraltar mission has a half moon that rises at about 10pm.

a kind O.T. but...Sergbuto, while working on the periscope reflections, could you try to fix the snorkel too, so that it will make a visible trail?

The Fov zoom-in itself is irrelevant and not the cause of the moon appearing to reflect suddenly. What happens is that the game has an LOD system for reflections. When far away, a "low-res" system of reflections is used. When up close, the "full version" is used. How the game decides between them is related to the fov which fools the camera into thinking the object is closer and the LODBias settings which are kept in some cfg file - sim.cfg I think, but I can't recall exactly right now. |
