type IXB-C SKINS WITH NEW DECKS
Hi guys
anyone no where I can find a good pic of the type IXB conning tower deck as I can't find a good one in my books. I've tried uboat.net but no joy, heres a few pics of my skins I'm making, this one is a plain clean type B. I used a sample colour from uboat.net the same colour as my VIIC skin dunkelgrau 51 as this colour was used on alot of boats http://img285.imageshack.us/img285/2282/plain3rv.th.jpg I've also reworked the deck. http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/339...deck2im.th.jpg This next skin is a type C, it has a mediterranean camouflage which I copied from pics in my books again has dunkelgrau 51 gray base colour and the splotches are Schiffsbodenfarbe III grau as this colour was somtimes used for this type of camouflage http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/9569/camo1lk.th.jpg Heres a pic of the deck http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/6...deck5tk.th.jpg If anyone can help with a pic of the type IXB conning tower deck that would be great thanks fubar. |
Those look great! Will there be one for the IXD2? I don't think a IXD2 skin even exists.

Hi fubar,
Yes, that second set of pics is MUCH better. Great looking skins you're making there! I really like the reworked deck. I'm currently in August 1940 in my career. But when the IXC becomes available I'd sure like to use your skin for it! :yep: Cheers, OneTinSoldier |
OOOOH! AAAAAH!
I changed from a type9 to a type7 just for your skins. I think I can just about change back now... YESSSS!!! |
  They look great!!!! I am going to try them :yep: :yep:

U-505 Is a IXC that was captured off the coast of Africa
with this link you need Quick time to view the sub but the on line tour is totally awesome! I haven't looked at the tor tour for a couple of months but they may have a good shot of the coning tower there http://www.msichicago.org/exhibit/U505/ |
Colour looks lovely :)

Great! :sunny:
Waiting for it :D  |
Great work Fubar
I have been waited for these skins. Is it possible to make a IXC skin without the camo? Like the camo, bur sometimes it's nice with just a plain skin. When is it planned for download? |
MAN! FUBAR... awesome awesome work... just like the first one.
I hope the Type II subs are on your list somewhere. |
Gave your second screenshots a proper look, easily the best sub skin yet :D
|
Fubar, this is great stuff.
Since this second U-boat skin is specifically for the Mediterranean I'm thinking about using it in SH3 Commander (if you'd be willing to let us use it). However, I'm a bit concerned about the tower/hull match up. Since different hull types are mixed and matched with different tower types, would we need a whole set of Type IX towers (I think there are three tower styles for the Type IX) modified with the 'splotchy' camouflage? Have you already taken this into account? Does the same thing apply to hulls - i.e. can a Type IXB use an IXC tower? If we can get this sorted out, I can use SH3 Commander to get this skin into the game in a way so that it will only appear on boats that are based in the Mediterranean. |
woot i've been waiting for this as well, i love your type 7 skin

Fantastic work!
BTW, I was wondering if there are any .psd templates in circulation? |
@Fubar
When do you plan a release? |
Hi all

I haven't looked at the tor tour for a couple of months but they may have a good shot of the coning tower there. reply Krieg Schwein thanks for the tip but I have used this site as a main reference for my skins, I have now found some pics of a type B tower deck thanks again. Rulle 34 said Is it possible to make a IXC skin without the camo? Like the camo, bur sometimes it's nice with just a plain skin. When is it planned for download? reply I will also make a plain type IXC heres a pic of the IXC40 conning tower http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/2...14537tm.th.jpg these skins should be done at the weekend I'm off to france for a few days. Have you already taken this into account? Does the same thing apply to hulls - i.e. can a Type IXB use an IXC tower? reply yes no probs if you want to use this skin but you are wright the IXB has two towers its own tower then later It uses the IXC tower the same aplies to the IXC it uses its own tower then if you upgrade to a IXC40 it also uses the IXD tower. I have made all towers needed for each skin. The way I see it is that most people seem to be useing a mod enabler, so if you are useing say a IXB type and you want to upgrade to a IXC then you can deactivate the IXB skin then upgrade to the type IXC, I don't no if this would work with SH3 COMMANDER what do you think? ApolloFS said BTW, I was wondering if there are any .psd templates in circulation? reply I dont think there are templates in circulation, for my decks I had to play with the orignal files and make them. ok these skins should be finished over the weekend. speak soon fubar. Thank's FUBAR.
