Total Eclipse - April 8
|
I’m ready to drive from Florida to Arkansas but the way current weather forecast stands, looks I’ll be staying put and have to be satisfied with 53% coverage.

Best way to see the eclipse is on the Internets Tubes.

Any time something cool is going to happen, I can set my clock to Iowa having a solid overcast. :/\\!!
"Did you see the meteor shower?" "No, I got soaked." :nope: |
^ Let us know what you see - or don't see

I'm REALLY close to the center of the travel line.
Got our "Don't go Blind" eye wear ready. If I got to go Blind, I have a more enjoyable way to do that. :03::D |
....the weather forcast this AM is that much of the total dark path viewing will be botched by rainy weather. Given the eclipse of Mons in 1914, and the mid-battle eclipse at Isandlwana on 1/22/1879, these things tend to portend disaster...:hmmm::oops::dead:

Be prepared! Doom I say, DOOM! :yep: Bee Cave issues disaster declaration for total solar eclipse https://communityimpact.com/austin/l...solar-eclipse/ |
Doomsday you say
I who thought it was the moon who would place itself in front of the sun for a while during daytime April 8th and not the Sun in front of the moon. Markus |
It must not happen.

Weather forecasts are a mess. I was ready to travel the 1500 miles to Arkansas to video totality but ONLY if the weather forecast was sunny or mostly sunny.
Looking at the Arkansas short range ensemble forecast it’s nothing but clear sky as far as the eye can see! But then the Canadian ensemble shows 30-40% cloud coverage and the American ensemble shows overcast sky. They’re not even close to the same. I’m just staying home, eclipse is only 53% coverage but hopefully I can get some video of that. Of course Im facing the same issues here, the national weather service forecasts 30% cloud coverage which is OK. But then Weatherunderground forecasts 70% cloud coverage or worse. If its too cloudy my back up plan is to go to the beach and pout  |

That was the last time we were in Mexico. Going back there next month but to a different hotel. |
