They can have it. I always considered the Oktoberfest to be a national embarassment.

And all those abstinent muslims ... guess only guests are allowed to drink beer then..

Interesting The Swedes and The Danes is/was looking forward to this...here this famous Oktoberfest is popular among travel agents.

You are one out of millions German-is their view on fest the same as yours ?

Well, you're always welcome to visit Wisconsin. Plenty of Oktober festivals to go around in that state.


In beginning of month we have Apple Festival in Bayfield, WI too. Very laid back fun.

As for Dubai, hotel transportation is included.

Well, I also do not like Currywurst or Sauerkraut, cars or most of Beethoven.

Every Golden Retriever is a dog, but not every dog a Retriever.

Some people are extroverted, some are not. Some of those being extroverted like big upfilling events with noise and crowds and lots of puke around the corner. Others do not.

Its a cliche that all Germans like the Oktoberfest. Some do, others don't, and other just dont care.

Is that really a surprise?

Believe it or not, but personally I know and knew nobody who cared for the OF. And I am confident to say that is the majority view. Most neither like or dislike it, but just dont care, are not interested.
Except maybe in Bavaria. :)

I think there will be Oktoberfest celebrations in the US that will be more authentic than what they'll be able to do in Dubai. God bless them for trying though. I just hope it doesn't spur some jihadi terrorist action with all that alcohol and scantily clad women strutting around in the Holy Land.
