A new promising overhaul MOD for CW
Hi All. Find a fantastic overhaul mod for CW in steam, "Epic MOD" from Russia, partly translated into English, which introduces some amazing new features like wake homing torpedo, manually release towered array, etc and improves AI significantly.

M134 mentioned this last month in another thread and I downloaded it then. It's a big mod to be sure. It and CW Playable Subs mod certainly could duke it out for the inevitable "CWX" ultra-mod title.

It was updated recently, in which multi-language is provided. It also provides metric system with Russian crew voice, which is really fun. |
Glad you like it guys) We're trying to make this mod fun and with more content. Thanks to efforts of Rokvam, Frank and some other people it is now with partial translation to English.
Btw, Epic Mod is quite old, but it became avaliable to english-speacking community just recently. @ETR3(SS) You've served on a sub... Can I ask you a question? |

CWX means a lot, HAHA. Will keep eyes on it |

Well, I remember when GWX for SH set such a bar for mods that "DWX" was the title all the Dangerous Waters mods tried to adopt (Reinforce Alert being the first, and eventually earning the status). "CWX" would seem to be the corresponding milestone for Cold Waters. ;) |

I wrote a code for crew leveling system, in which once submarine gains a level, a random crew division(?) gains a point and corresponding bonus is applied. On russian ships those divisions are called "boevaya chast'"(боевая часть). I'm using 4 out of 7: boevaya chast-1 Navigation boevaya chast-3 Mine/Torpedo Weapons boevaya chast-5 Electromechanical boevaya chast-7 Radio engineering So question is how can I call those divisions(?) in human English)? What similar divisions are on US subs and how do they called? How it will look ingame: https://prnt.sc/smry2t https://prnt.sc/smryhm P.S It seems that forum do not accept images from LightShot's server, and I do not really want to use an image hosting... So direct links instead of images... |

@ETR3(SS)
Thank you very much! This helped me a lot. I had to orient on russian divisions so there will be some inconsistencies in division name and bonuses provided, but at least it will look more realistic now) |
crew incremental improvements system
looks good this add,s even more Variables to game

Found a latest video with Epic Mod 2.11 in youtube, in which the dual between sealwolf and oscar (AI) is very impressive. I think the AI is much smarter than vanilla. You can see the torpedo evasion maneuvering of the oscar, during which he even remembered to counter-fire with waterfall missiles when close to surface!

In both the sub vs sub duel it is impressive the efforts the AI puts in trying to evade the torpedoes. If you lose the wire I have the feeling that the AI can actually evade them as effectively as the human player usually do. One thing I do not like was seeing the player controlling the seawolf launch a torpedo at a big angle while running at 20 knots and the wire didn't brake... this makes things t bit too easy IMHO. |
