Why is my crew not feeling fatigue anymore?
I recently loaded a bunch of mods, continued my campaign and now the crew aren't feeling fatigue anymore. I personally enjoy the challenge of this. I know that SH Commander has a workaround for this but I'd rather not use it. Does someone have the original script for fatigue or have any idea what's wrong?
Thanks! |

Thanks for your help John.
I'm new to modding for this sim. I had previosly tried out the megamod Living Silent Hunter 2015. I liked some features but not others so I removed all of that. I uninstalled SH from C/Silent Hunter and reinstalled at the default location: C/program files 86/ubisoft/SH I upgraded to 4gb patch. Is there an issue with 4gb patch installed at default location? Installed JSGME. I'm using the following mods: TKSS German U boats compilation. Thomsen's sound pack V3.2cg ManosenvironmentPro v6 Waterstream+exhaust combi-single exhaust for type II Waterstream for U Boats v4 2 skins for IID and IXC I would imagine the crew files have been altered in: Data/cfg There are several files for all the different U boat types, but when I click on them it says 'unable to find software for the selected file' and I cant open it. Cheers! |

For starters, never install the game at it's default choice. Do as you did before with your LSH install. The default location can cause problems, whether with the 4gb patch, I do not know. I know most of those mods wouldn't affect fatigue, but to be sure, look in their files and if they have either a Basic.cfg or crew config.cfg in them, they could as both of these files have fatigue parts in them. |
PERV to the max!

As I said, I tried opening the files but got the message 'unable to find software for the selected file' and I cant open it. Any ideas? I've tried starting a new campaign and the same problem. I also think the weather seems suspiciously nice. This may have been affected too. Also, when I did the original uninstall, I did it from the uninstall option on the DVD. Could there be files left over elsewhere? I know about the SH3 file in My Documents which I removed. |

- Have you tried opening the mod files by themselves, outside of the game, or are you talking about trying to access them in the game ? If the latter, try the former. - weather is controlled by the envsim.act file in your mail game directory. You can check dates on it to see if it's been changed/the version you want. - Not that I know of; you did the My documents. Just check the install folder if you haven't already and it never hurts to run a registry cleanup. CCLeaner is a good one. |
I'm trying to open the files outside of the game. I get the message 'unable to find software for the selected file'.

That is strange. Maybe a corrupted download. |
OK I've reinstalled game at recommended location:
C:SHIII Installed 4gb patch. So far so good. Fatigue is back. I'll next try mods. One thought, did I read somewhere NOT to apply mods while in campaign? Do I have to be in port? |

Great ! Any other problems, fire away. Do each mod one at a time, test game, etc. That will let you know if/which mod is the culprit. |
Thanks again for your help John.
Next mod I want to try is Manos environments. This is confusing as there are several choices in the folder. Itried before but I wasn't sure if it was doing anything different. My setup so far is: 4gb patch. JGSME Running Win7 Nvidia card. (Not sure which type?) Here are the Manos files. Which would you recommend? M.E.P v5 - VisualSensors for WAC v5.2 M.E.P v5 - VisualSensors for WAC5 M.E.P v6 - VisualSensors for WAC v5.2 M.E.P v6 - VisualSensors for WAC5 ManosEnvironmentPro v1.1 ManosEnvironmentPro v2.1 ManosEnvironmentPro v3 +FIX pack+Sensors ManosEnvironmentPro v4.2 ManosEnvironmentPro v5 ManosEnvironmentPro v5 with GREEN Water ManosEnvironmentPro v6 Update M.E.P v4.2 to v4.3 Thankyou! |

You have several versions of his work there; 1,2, 4, 5, and 6. You only need one in the game at a time, 6 is the latest if that matters to you. However it is a 20k visual distance mod which may tax your pc if it's an older one. I have used 5 and 6 but do not any longer but they're all excellent work. I liked his green work vs. the blue of the others, but that's me. The various sensor files are only for the mod/manos version listed. The main mod itself is the ones listed "ManosEnvironmentPro vX". MEP is the acronym used on the forum for the same mods. Be sure to read his readme and info for install info. |
I take it that by 'ManosEnvironmentPro vX' you're just referring to any of the modes listed above and not a particulat mod called ManosEnvironmentPro vX?
I read the read me but it's not clear If I put the whole folder ie 'ManosEnvironmentPro v6' in the JGSME and move to column on the right or unpack specific folders within this to MODS folder ie 'M.E.P v6' and move that to right followed by other sensors etc? Thanks, Comp |

Correct, "X" just means the version number. Inside the ManosEnvironmentPro v6 folder is the main mod folder you move to the right in JSGME; it's called M.E.P. v6. Then you would install any of the optional mods desired (I recommend the FSF (flat sun fix) and ShipsVanishingHull mods. See readme for install order and info.). Then you would install the 20k visual sensor for the megamod listed if you're using one of those. If not, ignore them. However, for the main MEP mod to work you need some 20k sensors from some where and it doesn't provide them on it's own. The readme does tell how to edit the sensor files one is using instead of those provided, but I'm not sure you're up for that. I'd recommend only using the MEP mods with one of the megamods it has sensor files for. The Stiebler folder is if you're using his patch too. If not, ignore it. |
Thanks this is working now!
One thing...I loaded the green water mod but the water's blue, not green? |

The green doesn't really show well unless it's cloudy or an external/above view. It's subtle green but if you ever take a look at his blue versions, you'll notice the difference. |
