She is very tolerant towards acts of violence that others endured under her watch. "But what difference does it make?" It was a sad thing to say on her part. She marches on looking to break the glass ceiling while trampling along the way.

In the middle east, throwing shoes at e.g. a president means he should leave his administrative post. Throwing a shoe in this region is, at the same time, the most contemptuous action you can show for someone.
