Grossdeutscher Rundfunk New Remix

This mod "Grossdeutscher Rundfunk" could be JSGME Friendly (but I not test

it. So,Beware!!!).

Install Options:

a)unzip the file to the JSGME mods directory and use JSGME to install this

mod.

Or

b) extract directly into the "Radio" folder of your SH5 installation (If

you used the default install, this should be "C:\Program

Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\Data\Sound\Radio).

Or

c)extract into a temp area and copy/move the "Grossdeutscher Rundfunk"

folder to the "Radio" folder.

In the radio.cfg, copy this:
*************************************************
[CHANNEL]
Name=Grossdeutscher Rundfunk
Folder=Grossdeutscher Rundfunk
Freq=330
Antenna=01.01.1930-01.01.2000:53.4,8.48:50000
;MusicVolumeOnNews takes values from 0.01 to 1
MusicVolumeOnNews=0.01
************************************************
The coordinates are of the city of Bremen!!!.

Here, you have now the frequency on your Radio from:
Grossdeutscher Rundfunk >>>>>>>>>>>>Frequency: 330 khz

So,you can listen music all the time, with pauses every 50-60 minutes aprox (Duration of the loop = 13:35 hs....) , and also can listen (time

in time..) news,propaganda and war reports from 1939 to 1943 at 0800Z (or

GMT), 2000Z and 2115Z (for the Lord Haw Haw "speechs"). On 18 May 1943,

pay attention at 1830Z!!!! (;-).

HINT: You can copy all ogg files from your main folder to your Gramophone

root in ~data\sound\gramophone so you can also hear all that from your

Gramophone.

Thanks a lot to Conveen for your original recopilation and inspiration for

my job!!!!. Enjoy it!!! Tordo (from Argentina :)

For some reason I can't get part 6 to download. It keeps coming up with "Page cannot be found" after the 20 sec wait time for the download.

Any ideas anyone?

excellent mod, really love it :yeah:

A hammer would be if the Propaganda News would relate to the actual date on the boat. When you´re travelling in 1939 and get news from 1941 it´s a kind of weird :doh:

Katze 01-21-14 12:19 PM

Just a note that while playing the Open Horizons 2.3.1 campaign, Coastal Waters, I had a consistent repeatable CTD with this mod enabled at 20:00 GMT Sept 30 1939.
After multiple attempts ( and 2 restarted campaigns) I was pointed to this thread: Ctd at certain date/time
Removing the mod from my list allowed me to continue past 20:00.

I'll re-downlaod the files in case I might have a corrupt download. I unpacked them using 7-zip.

I'm glad with your comment, but please detail me the wrong New's dates and I'll repair the fail. Thanks!!!!

Does anyone use this mod at all with up to date modlists ?
Also, link 3 is dead so archive can not be extracted...:06: Can anyone upload part 3 for me?

kevinsue 02-27-15 01:07 AM

I am currently using Grossdeutscher Rundfunk with TWOS. I just checked in the files and it doesn't have an events folder or an events.ini.

All the sound files are in the main Grossdeutscher Rundfunk folders (1939 to 1943) so I assume that the files just play sequentially like the gramophone. I'm not sure a I don't speak German to tell if the news broadcasts are in order by date.

I had asked this question in another thread, http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=218215 when I was trying to work out if SH5 had program support for the events.ini structure like SH3/4 did.

The other day after installing TWOS, (Fantastic work BTW):yeah: I was on my way to Danzig once again after a new career start, listening the the BBC on the radio when to my surprise, a news flash interrupted the music with the British ultimatum for Germany to withdraw from Poland and then later with the Declaration of War, (so I finally had the answer regarding SH5 and the events.ini.)

I was quite chuffed about this and then BdU sent a message to confirm what I had heard!:up:

I had replied in another thread about Carotio's radio mod as per the quote below but have not had any replies regarding this.

Quote:

G'day All...

I jumped through the registering hoops and was accepted just a few weeks ago.

I was fortunate enough to download the Intercontinental Radio Pack because I think Carotio is closing down his site this month (February).

Maybe with Carotio's and Subsims permission, one of us members that have the mod may be able to upload it to Subsim so that it isn't lost to the community.

The problem is, that even compressed, the download is huge and consists of 57 separate packs of 100 Mb each!

It's a shame when sites such as Silenthuntermods.com have to close because of the lost information and rescources.

But it is understandable because of the cost and amount of work required to keep them up and running especially if it is a one man show.

So...all is not lost yet. We need to start moving towards making this great mod available to all.

Regards....Kev*
EDIT 2:

I think I digressed a bit from the original question.....I have the original Grossdeutscher Rundfunk and not the remixed version.....and yeah, #3 download is an invalid file. Not sure where you could get this file now...

Kaleun78 03-04-15 01:11 AM

Aktungbby 03-04-15 02:09 AM
