It wasn't me

Motorcyclist killed after losing control, falling off Ship Channel Bridge in east Houston

Wow, this must have sucked. Any of you familiar with the Ship Channel bridge knows this thing is HIGH. And the story says he fell from the top.

Poor guy...

Wolferz 04-27-13 08:31 PM

It's not the fall that kills you.
It's the sudden stop.

We're glad it wasn't you, Neal.

Would your putt putt even pull that bridge?

That is highly unfortunate.:nope: That bridge looks to be at least a 100' drop. Do they know the cause? I'm just curious because I've investgated or witnessed a number of MC accidents and, in almost every case, it wasn't the motorcyclist's fault. I have found that bikers are usually much safer drivers than vehicle motorists.
Glad to hear it wasn't you.

What'd you say about my motorcycle?

Armistead 04-27-13 09:45 PM

I've seen two bikers killed. Worse was they had concrete carriers working on highway right up to the line. The biker was in right lane, big rig in left. Truck came over, biker had no where to go. .....

Be careful on those things. We had a Sr. in high school here last year doing tricks on his, wrecked and died. Real nice kid, just acting stupid and paid for it.

AVGWarhawk 04-27-13 09:51 PM

Gosh, that is a horrible way to go.

Red October1984 04-27-13 10:53 PM

Hell of a way to go....

:nope:

...and yet the average guys on bicycles are just the opposite. Maybe getting a DUI should ban you from all owner operated transportation with wheels.

We're glad it wasn't you Neal. Do you often cross that bridge? Bet it gets pretty windy up at the top.

BossMark 04-28-13 12:40 AM

Very nasty indeed :nope:

Jimbuna 04-28-13 06:07 AM

Most tragic and pleased your safe old fella.

Red October1984 04-28-13 09:13 AM

Is it bad that "Blood Upon the Risers" was the first thing that ran through my mind? :hmmm: :shifty:

its not the bike that's dangerous its the idiots that keep pulling out and cutting us off.

been thru about a dozen ditches and yards myself but I was always lucky enough to have "some" type of exit path

nikimcbee 04-28-13 10:42 AM

Even if it was you, you need to tell me the secret of posthumous posting.:hmmm:

If you see Jim Morrison, say Hi; big fan.

Onkel Neal 04-28-13 10:55 AM

Maybe where you live but here in sunny California it's legal to drive between cars on the freeway. Very stupid when traffic is not slowed for congestion and I see it done every week. There is just no room for error from either party and guess who winds up dead. :dead:

les green01 04-28-13 04:17 PM

I have seen morons on motor cycles and in cars I like to say when people get their driving license they need to go to truck driving school and then spend a month or two riding in a semi
