Thirty years ago we were expecting the Warsaw Pact to roll over the eastern borders every/any day. My kids don't understand what its was like living with everyone's finger on the trigger all the time. I hope they never do.

No matter what we say....I think that inside, we are all thankful for those tanks and their purpose during the Cold War.

In Germany tank crewmen enjoyed getting tanked off duty by drinking great tasting German beer out of tankards.

It may have been a "tankless" job but as they say "You give some and you tank some".
