I think the issue was caused by a poorly seated magazine because the first round fired just fine when your first shot fires and your second does not and you have a
magazine fed weapon in your hands you most likely did not seat the magazine properly in the well.He should have charged rifle then made sure that the magazine was firmly seated if he had done that he would had only one misfire and none had he properly seated the mag in the first place.

Also this guy is not concealed at all to the eyes of a good sniper with the muzzle sticking out from his hide he is saying "here I am shot me"!

the other sniper is very skilled though his shot would have been perfect center mass had Mr.FAL stayed put.

Once again I'm wondering who held the camera to film this in the first place. With all these videos popping up you'd think a camera man was a standard member of any battle formation these days, apparently including a sniper team.

True that, although the footage is not likely for entertainment purposes, to showcase Bob's shaky hand-held cam skills off. As the shots that came in seconds after the guy moved indicate, none of it was scripted. Had the guy remained there, the Team Morale Officer would have had a tough time of it, picking up Billy's remnants off the floor and wall behind him.
There are videos of scripted or play-acting type incidents and then there are these footages, real and no nonsense.

I only have personal knowledge of the SA-80 group of weapons, but to me firing one or two more rounds indicates a blockage in the gas system.

They generally have video running at any potential ambush of the Syrian army, there was one posted a few weeks back that showed the rather violent brewing up of a Syrian T-72 after an AT missile slammed into the back of it. One of the crew (presumably the commander) was thrown out of the turret as it went up but managed to scramble to possible safety (there were bullets ricocheting off the wall as he ran past it so it's possible he got hit, but even if he did survive, he'll have had some hefty burns).
But yes, if in doubt, 'Allahu Ackbar'. :yep:

One lucky but careless sniper there, but these aren't professionals, unlike the chap who shot back at him. That was a damn fine reply shot and probably a lot more accurate than the shots that went out. :doh:

SPORTS is a good general rule of thumb but was created specifically for the M16/AR15.Many rifles do not have a forward assist for any firearm SPORS is better.The FAL for example does not have a forward assist.

@Herr-Berbunch I recon it depends on what firearm you have in your hands as each have their tendencies.Seeing as this man is not a trained solider and seemingly very experienced I assume that he is going to make a common mistake that a person familiar with proper operation would not make.Of course I was thinking more M16 in my head with the magazine not being seated.FALs from I have seen seem to have a design that insures good seating.I have heard that some FAL mags are junk though.

From I understand the FAL can be tricky to a person unfamiliar to them even a person that has experience with other firearms.I can not say myself as I have never fired a FAL before.The FAL does have the adjustable gas system if you have it set too high it becomes basically a single shot weapon(not enough gas pressure to move the bolt). Some surplus FALs available is the US are hit and miss and do not work very well no matter what.This guy being a rebel in a place that does not allow private ownership of firearms who knows where that FAL came from it could be junk.

I'm not acquainted with all of the latest iterations of assault weapons in manufacture these days. I was finished with that sort of thing when my ETOS from the army rolled around. Baby sitting little sister was a PITA.:down: But, even a Chinese made AK-47 has a forward assist, which doesn't really matter as they tend to cook off rounds in the breach. Most unsafe weapon I've ever fired and I have no desire to ever own one. But, I may be looking at getting an AR-15 and a 3D printer to print up a new reciever and the 30 round clip if the Dems continue their assault on our liberties.

I have not heard of any AK having a forward assist myself but suppose that it is possible.Unless you are thinking of a " bolt hold open" which is a forward assist in a certain respect.They do make hold opens for AKs.

That is more of an urban legend than a useful tactic, especially in urban combat.
There are tons of videos from US/Coalition snipers popping off round after round from the same position.
