That's awesome blkdimnd. I did not know ham radio was still something people enjoyed and participated in anymore. :hmmm:
|
It's as big as ever, I hear. Congrats on your certificate!
|
When I was a kid it was not unusual for homes in the neighborhood to have a large antenna on the house or set up in the yard. I do not see them much anymore.
|
You should really tell more.
I always thought ham radio was something you built from kits and just went broadcasting. Didn't know you need a licence inland ??? I'm contemplating instaling a CB station in my car :hmmm: |
I think a CB does not require a license.
|
Certainly not necessary in the UK

I spend a lot of time on the highway. A two hour drive just to get to my school.
But where to mount it. I think I'll have to throw out the speedometer and ODO counter to make room :hmmm: |

I had one then 2 months later? POOF! |
I owned a 80 Lincoln that had a factory installed CB. I remember my brother toying with one in his car way back when. I do not recall needing anything to own it. Citizen Band Radio. 10-4 Rubber ducky. Put the hammer down. Smokey in a plain brown wrapper. Come back....
Sheesh...Smokey and the Bandit. |
Too many rubber ducks for my liking...used to listen in on warnings of impending speed checks and prosecute for obstructing official Police procedures http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...es/wolfcop.gif
