Differences between GWX and SH3.

Can I get a list? Is that too much to ask?

bigboywooly 03-23-12 07:01 AM

Yep is a bit too much to ask
Be easier to ask what it doesnt change from stock

Download the manual here and have a read

1. Install
2.Try
3 If don't like suck it up butter cup. lol no but give it a rest. It's a bit overwhelming going from stock to GWX. When I tried it for the first time I rage quit the game. It just takes getting used to.
4.?
5. Profit

As BBW said, pretty much everything is different, so a list would include thousands of items.

In general, it's just worlds better.

That's a bit hard, since GWX uses its own installer and not JSGME.

So:

1. Install
2. Try
3. If don't like: uninstall SH3, delete 'SH3' file from My Documents, clean registry, reinstall SH3.

There aren't too many people who don't love GWX though.

GWX sucks. Stick with the stock game. :O:

I calls 'em as I sees 'em. :D

1-1/2 years playing GWX and I couldn't be happier. :salute:

Stock: 23 page manual

Gwx: 700+page manual.

Nuff said.

I can vaguely remember playing stock game. I can vividly remember playing GWX for the first time. There was a lot of "oh wow look at that" and "that's the first time that happened".

There's no going back.:salute:

Stock-SH3 is the original PC game released by Ubisoft in 2005.

If you are playing GWX, you are playing the stock game with The Grey Wolves mod added.

Stock 39-45 I can do it.

GWX 39-45 no chance what so ever.

Conclusion..GWX is more of a challenge.

Last one to the pub is paying. :)

I could be happier, but it's minor stuff I want. I'll live with it. :sunny:

Sure thing. Just wrote those out in big, bold letters with a magic marker and mailed it off to you in a plain see-through-ish envelope. :salute:

You did say you wanted my social security number, too, right? :DL

U-Boat Meditteranean

I have all the SH versions from 1 to 5. Where the U-Boat versions are concerned I find 5 too awkward and 2 too basic (when the convoy ships are not colliding with eachother). I have known about the SUBSIM site for years but only just become a member of the forum. As such I have just downloaded and installed GWX. Like most people I'm impressed immensly and find it much more challenging. I've also installed SH Commander but what I want to know is can I now reinstall my official add on, U-Boat Meditteranean over GWX as I like the camo subs and the U-Boat pens (I know there are pens in GWX) or is my official add on now a tea coaster. Michael.

Welcome to Subsim GalaxianFive.:salute:

Sailor Steve 03-27-12 02:07 PM

WELCOME ABOARD! :sunny:

I've never heard of U-Boat Meditteranean, but it is possible to take the skins from one mod and apply them into the game. There are also a lot of skins available here:

Your "official" add on was always a tea coaster. The company that produced that (X1) just simply took free mods from various sources, bundled them up and sold them for a profit. GWX includes much more than that, and does it better.

If you like camo skins for your boat, there's plenty of GWX compatible choices around here.
