Why, have they run out of tanks? :hmmm:

They are so afraid to have another Tienanmen Square debacle. Need to put a good public face for the world to admire, while they rape the world's economies.

That whole area in the park is roped off and its verboten to take any pictures of that section. I did snap a few on the side, you know how us stoopid Americans are.

Employees of a Singaporean electronics firm Hi-P International in Shanghai went on strike last week over mass job losses.
Thousands of workers in Shenzhen and Dongguan, two of China's top export centres in the south of the country, went on strike last month protesting cuts in overtime.
Must have come as quite a culture shock to the leadership.

The internet is the Chinese government's worst enemy

In my opinion, keep the government there, just days of anarchy and rebellion is going to be horrible in the current state of chinese society

Looks like somebody wants to have a bigger budget.
And I love the word "social management", so beautiful bureaucratic! :yeah:

I call shenanigans.

They have no compulsion on "whacking" mob style any dissidents. Tiananmen square proved that.

If you are ever in China google (or baidu) tiananmen square, I bet the results will be vastly different than what you get in your home country.

My pet peeve is how we continually harass a loudmouth with no bite, like Iran/N korea. Yet leave fellow UN leader, and repeated human rights violator like China alone.

Oh Yeah Russia, Their eternal UN buttbuddies, I forgot they want a rematch of the cold war...

How about we dissolve the UN, it would die without US funding and wargear...

Then we would be the a-holes right? We always are.

I suspect that part is correct.

Gerald 12-05-11 04:46 PM

U.S., has quite a debt to the UN, and UN needs U.S.

Who needs who's money? UN would be a glorified red cross agency without US wargear and funding. Hello, largest ($) army in the world.

In case wikipedia is too fake for the hardcores, I found another site.

(this site is really informative)

Who needs who?

I am not saying we are gods for being so stout militaristically. Just saying no one else even comes close...

So who needs who?

Some of our individual State GDPs surpass entire countries (California, Texas)
Population and men of military age is another matter.

I am not one to be cocky over Americas imperialism, but I won't let our role in the world be discounted, good or bad.

Just sayin, I still love you. Our tanks might not, but I do
:D

My opinion in the case, America's commitment in the world, it is already crystal clear the country has created the conditions for many, and the balance between the various pacts during decades of clashes in different parts of our society, I see no reason to break this, regardless of money.

And I wish it wasn't so. All that money we spend could go to destroying true capitalism even further by bailing out the sloppy to big to fails.

Like our big sloppy banks here, and Greece and Spain there.

Meanwhile the Chinese laugh all the way to the bank.

Not so sure that is the case but only time will eventually tell.
