You may want to provide a little commentary, or at least an introduction to what we're about to watch, rather than just throwing a link out there.

Edited to add this: ;) |
Personally, I like how the video has comments disabled, thus stifling any attempt by someone to raise an alternative point of view to an emotional argument.

It's going to get real messy around here over the next twelve months...do not envy the moderators, not one bit. |
Actually I think the video is a very good and legitimate thought/question. However it could've been introduced and posed for discussion a lot better :hmmm:

Thank you for helping me see it, Oberon. Maybe you are not an empty raisin after all. But how do I know you are not a bot? Quote:

Inflammatory comments from the peanut gallery aside, (as opposed to inflammatory comments from party leaders in the opposition, but I digress ;) I think there's nothing wrong with expecting people to take personal responsibility for their actions. If someone is more than capable of paying for their own health insurance (as the question states), and chooses not to purchase protection because of flawed reasoning, then they should be responsible for the outcome (which in this case would likely result in bankruptcy more than death). If a person chooses not to wear a seatbelt because they're a "good driver" and is injured in an accident, should the government be responsible for fixing their mistake? If a person chooses not to buy fire insurance because they "don't cook" and their house burns down, who is responsible? I don't think the government should be in the business of subsidizing stupidity, and I wish at least one of the candidates would've had the gravitas to point this out. |

Unless you are in my head. No, you can't be! The power of tinfoil compels your rice rays out of the window. Maybe you are a fishmonger. |

I know someone, she was self-employed AND uninsured. She also had a very aggressive form of cancer. She received treatment for it and is now cancer free for the last 8 years. The system worked and it worked very well too. We also had an opportunity to meet some very great doctors and nurses who took a personal interest in my future wife's health.
What all political activists need to get through their simple minded pin headed skulls is there is absolutely NO guarantee cancer treatment will work. Neither the Tea Party, MoveOn org, Democrats, Republicans, or the Sandinistas can cure cancer or prevent someone from dying. Only through advancements in medical science and new treatment methods can a cure be found. Not by a political system or the government administration of it. |
