QUIZ - Fill in the missing word

I have an interesting idea, not sure if it will work, but here goes.
Each day someone comes up with a famous line from a film, you all have to guess the missing word (each dotted line does in fact correspond to the exact number of missing letters).
At the end of the day the poster reveals the answer to the group and you get 1 point for a correct answer and a bonus point for guessing what film that was from.
Now comes the tricky part, deciding who gets to pick the next question.I thought about deciding this on who answered the quickest, but this is clearly not realistic or fair.If you could give me some ideas on how we could do this that would be great.
I have no idea on the final part of the game regarding deciding who is the winner, but I thought about:
- first to 50
- first to 100

You get the idea. This should keep us all busy for a fair while at the very least.
VERY IMPORTANT - please dont cheat, dont do a Google search for any hints or tips, let this be a true test of your own film knowledge :know:
I'll get the ball rolling shall I?

"open wide! ----- you son of a bitch!"

Good luck! :salute:

"smile"
Jaws
extra credit: spoken by Roy Scheider as Chief Martin Brody, who is trying to put a bullet into a canister of oxygen that is wedged into the shark's mouth in order to make it go *boom* :know:

That was TOO easy :wah:
Either way,you get your 2 points, and an extra slice of bacon :yep:

frau kaleun 07-29-11 09:45 AM

Yes, much too easy for someone who has seen Jaws approximately three gazillion times and has most of it memorized. :O:

Dont rub it in then :nope:;)

Herr-Berbunch 07-29-11 09:57 AM

So who goes next? :hmmm: Me thinks Frau.

frau kaleun 07-29-11 10:01 AM

Well I don't know if that's how Paul wanted to set it up, I think he wanted to give more time for different people to have a shot at answering over the course of the day. But since he's already revealed that my answers were the correct ones, that's not gonna work this time around. :O:

I dont believe it!,shot myself in the foot in my own quiz! :wah:
Frau,go ahead with question 2,and we go from there.I am afraid we will have to reset your score counter *damn*

frau kaleun 07-29-11 11:16 AM

Okay, here goes.

"Everybody has a -----... except some people."

And I will be really impressed if someone gets this. :yep:

Okay, here goes.

Hello Margo:03:

Paul Riley 07-29-11 11:43 AM

No idea, but i'm gonna go with "brain" :hmmm:
*too obvious,no way on this Earth is that the right answer!*

danasan 07-29-11 12:12 PM

Mum, Mum! She is quoting that old movie again!:wah:

Is it from 1950? :hmmm:

frau kaleun 07-29-11 12:19 PM

Paul, how do you want this to work? Do we end the round as soon as I see a correct answer? Or do we wait until I've been sufficiently amused by all the wrong ones? :O:

By the way, for a correct answer to count according to Paul's rules, it needs to include 1) the missing word and 2) the name of the movie. :03:

Bonus points from me if you can name the character, the actor, and explain why the line is so deliciously awesome in the context of the scene in which it is spoken. :D

"It's a ---- of a -----, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have."

Also, the obvious rule should be no looking it up on the interwebz.

You might wanna check the rules again in the OP. :DL

The idea is to fill in a missing word from a movie quote, and then name the movie. Also - round 2 hasn't ended yet, and the winner of that will probably get the next turn at providing a quote.

Edit... sorry, but I think your edit came a little too late. Also, round two is still not over. :O:

Soul?

Heart?

Secret?

I havent the slightest. then again im in my twenties, so i dont think i should be able to guess all of the oldies. you got me stumped haha.

Edit: I forgot to but in the blanks on mine , but now that youve quoted it i think it might be a little too easy. i should probably find another quote.....after yours of course :)

Paul Riley 07-29-11 04:26 PM

I have no idea how we are gonna do this.I am open to suggestions ;)

Well I'm perfectly comfortable giving Tribesman the win on mine, as I'm pretty sure he knows the answer. :D

@Tribesman - and yes I am impressed, about the only thing most people remember as far as lines from that movie is the other one. But the one I used is still my favorite.

Paul Riley 07-30-11 03:28 AM

Well seen as its a new day and nobody has sent in a question (bit early I know) I may as well give it another shot.

" This is it -------- you're great break in TV!,f##k the prime time,BITCH!"

A classic! :D
Sorry about the language, but it was just such a great scene from a great (for its day) movie. And remember,no looking around on the internet for answers.

frau kaleun 07-30-11 04:15 AM

You might want to pick something that's less, er, forceful. Language-wise. Just my gut feeling. :DL

For those who may be wondering about round 2, the movie was "All About Eve" and the quote was one of Margo Channing's lines, "Everybody has a heart... except some people."
