Jimbunas Diecast Collection
Some of you already know of my latest hobby (as of Dec 2010) of collecting post WWII British aircraft.
If I'm in the wrong section would a moderator kindly move it to somewhere more appropriate? http://www.tricatus.co.uk/CorgiAA_pages/index.htm http://www.geminijets.com/database/i...hp?r_product=6 http://www.hobbymaster.com.hk/airpower_72_harrier.shtml Edit: I've had to remove the list because any alterations and the justification etc. goes all to hell. |
Yes it was an interesting update, it seems that the wallet need also updated :yep:

:03: ------------- On the subject, I'd love to start collecting something like that, just don't have the money for it. :-? |

Although some did serve with the Fleet Air Arm... |
Rgr that Gerald...especially an old pensioner like me :DL
Won this on evilbay a short while ago....a 2-seat Typhoon trainer ZJ807/BF, 29(R) Squadron, RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire, to complement the single seat version already in my collection. The trainer version is becoming really scarce to source, I've only seen two or three examples this year. http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/189/aa36402.jpg |

I collect diecast cars as well.
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q...k/IMAG0283.jpg Thread hijacked! :stare: |
That's an impressive looking collection Chris, I'm waiting for the first ankle biter to fly the nest so I can convert the room into a man cave and put mine on display.
Thus far I've got my eye on a few of these but may end up looking for something with glass or perspex fronts like the one further below to keep the dust off. http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/images/pro...E165371_S4.jpg http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/images/pro...E272482_S4.JPG Ordered this Tonka earlier today for the collection: AA33606 Panavia Tornado GR.4A No. 13 Squadron, RAF Marham, Norfolk, "Operation Iraqi Freedom" http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/3858/aa33606.jpg |
The glassed covered shelves are the way to go. Specifically with the dust that likes to collect. Glad you are going to display. Often folks buy and keep them in the box because the item will retain better value. What's the purpose of buying the items in the first place? Display or make a few more dollars/pounds down the road? I open them, display and toss the box. These are madet to enjoy on display.
Tonka? Is the original Tonka that manufactured steel construction vehicles for kids to play with? Nice looking model. Have a link you purchase these from? :DL |
I used to have a Tonka digger
Anyway, pic as requested: http://img848.imageshack.us/img848/9923/1005203.jpg |

BTW...Kratos was asking after you on Thursday night. |
I was not sure if Tonka for the toy manufacturer is what you meant! :DL
