Hi there! Forgive me if this isn't the right place to put this, but it makes sense to me to have this here.

I just recently purchased Silent Hunter V and have decided on doing a Let's Play of the game pretty much blind. Watch, enjoy, make fun of me, whatever. I gave a shoutout to all the fine people here at SUBSIM for all the great work you guys do!

Actually this is a really well narated video . Did you read my haow to start a mission thread , its at the end of how to start a campaign thread . Install TDW user interface mod , the most important mod .

I think I installed that mod correctly. I'll have the second video up in about two hours, so you can visually confirm if you like.

I also appreciate your kind words. Like I said before, this is a blind Let's Play so I'm "submarining" by the seat of my pants. :D

You really need the IRAI mod and the AI sub no ctd fix .

Okay, downloaded both those mods. Unfortunately, I've already left Kiel as you'll see in the 2nd video so I'll have to wait until the next opportunity to port before I can install those mods, correct?

Really think this will give SH5 some good publicity. Some of your reactions are kind of funny (and similar to mine)... (Plotting the Kiel Canal is a pain in the arse..)

As others stated you should use some Mods. If you really want a complete supermod check out Magnum Opus in the Mods Forum. Basically a complete pack of what's made Sh5 a completely revamped game.

I'll consider installing some more mods, but the number one rule of a Let's Play is to never restart it. It basically kills the immersion.

Thanks, Krauter. I was hoping when you made that thread earlier, you were talking about my videos. :D

I don't know about being a tutorial [Except perhaps at things NOT to do when playing SH5] but I appreciate the comments. :)

I believe the majority if not all of the Magnum Opus content can be installed while on patrol.

And Yes I did mean your videos :O: :D

As for a tutorial, I only mean that, since you're new and fresh to both this game and the series, it offers a fresh perspective (no background politics influencing your view of the game) on how good the game is, as well as how to play/use it.
