Our first single is finally out, so happy!

We finally released our first single on iTunes. While it's a dutch track, I hope you enjoy it.

Here's a clip we made:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38dTYX_corg&hd=1

The clip itself is a bit amaturistic (since we made it with cheap camera's and edited ourselfs) but it's a start to hopefully something better. The video also contains shots of one of the stages which we won a spot for (also thanks to Subsim votees).

Next week our second time on 3FM, a major dutch radio show.

We are still working on our website and social media, so don't expect anything great there yet...

Hope you like! And for dutch/belgian people specifically (but everyone is welcome), join us on FB, YT, Twitter etc. :] We need the followers/fans!

Man, I like your sound; I wish you nothing but the greatest of success and happiness in your efforts!

Sailor Steve 12-09-10 01:03 AM

Very nice! Love the acoustic sound, and the harmonies are great.

I left a message and a 'like' for you guys. :yeah:

Jimbuna 12-09-10 12:18 PM

How cool was that

I like it :yeah:

AVGWarhawk 12-09-10 12:29 PM

The multi-talented Skwasjer! It is a nice sound. I do not understand a lick of the language but the melody is certainly top notch. Good luck friend!

Diopos 12-09-10 12:33 PM

Good ballad. Good group. Good singer. Life was good today! :yep:

Thanks skwasjer!

Thanks alot for the comments :]

Hitman 12-09-10 04:08 PM

I like the music very much, and I don't say that about modern music easily :DL (For me the 80s were the top music-wise)

If you guys would sing in english, I'm sure your great sound would spread amazingly and get lots of success

BTW who are you in the group? :hmmm:

Ah, the question I was afraid to ask.

Yes, please, do tell.

onelifecrisis 12-09-10 06:00 PM

He's Martijn Bodeman, one of the two guitar players (not bass). Not sure which one though!

I liked it skwasjer :)

Madox58 12-09-10 06:24 PM

DarkFish 12-09-10 09:11 PM

Nope, definitely keep singing in Dutch. There are already too many English speaking bands. Of course it's my personal taste, but generally I prefer bands that sing in their native language to bands that do not.

So that'd be the rhythm guitarist if I read the youtube description correctly?

OK, for all you non-Dutchmen that cannot understand anything of it, I've made a quick translation:

--Where the wind brings him--

The thought brought him further than
anyone else would ever go
It doesn't matter what the other does,
but what he did

The difference with being rusted solid
doing what he means
Tell the one you're lost
and follow his feeling

And he,
is the man who leaves you standing
[or "the man you leave standing", darn Dutch grammar:damn:]
And he,
is the man who's different,
the man
who's different

He leaves for where the wind brings him
so he never comes too late
And the time, the sun will tell
the reason that he leaves

So I wait here till he's back
look forward to his story
Then it's time to go myself
for a price I happily pay

And he,
is the man who leaves you standing
And he,
is the man
who's different,
the man
who's different

[solo]

And he,
is the man who leaves you standing
And he,
is the man
who's different,
the man
who's different

And he,
is the man who leaves you standing
And he,
is the man
who's different,
the man
who's different

Yup, I'm the first guy you see (playing the intro). BUSTED!! :)

skwasjer 12-10-10 10:13 AM

Our album should be out April 2011. Of course I will spam it again by then ;)

We also seek a booking agency and we already have contacts to produce a more professional music video, so we 'should' only go up from here.

In the past we did do English songs (in a different formation/band), but as DarkFish already said, it's hard to compete with English songs because of artists from England/US (and anywhere else) and then there's pronounciation and lack of English vocabulary (which will usually lead to silly, simple lyrics), so that will always a challenge. Dutch songs isn't easier per se to score a hit with, since many Dutch people prefer English songs over Dutch, but we still believe there's a niche for our music. We only need the break :)

Stick with what makes you guys happy as your base; the listeners will follow. I can't speak word one of the Dutch language, but that doesn't prevent me from liking your sound and presence. And who knows? Maybe I'll learn something else along the way.

You guys have a very clean, clear sound - not at all cluttered with background crap and useless fills - and I like that. I'm looking forward to hearing more!

Can you link so it takes us to itunes to buy it?
