How to Refueling on GWX3.0Gold?

Hy Everybody!:salute:
I readed about Suply Ships and U-Bote Tankers in the manual of GWX3.0 Gold MOD(pages:78 and 79).But I´m not abble to only refuel my boat.:hmmm:

Can someone tell me How to do that?

Thank you for your help.

P.S
I´m Student so Sorry for my Englis.

Simply saying, just sail to refuelling ship (milk cow, tender) and press Esc on your keyboard chose opition dock or something. You need to dock (finish your patrol) close to refuelling ship. Then if you use SH3Commander set option 0 or 1 day spend in base and start new patrol. Your tank will be full.

Usually you don't have to worry about running out of fuel. In GWX 3.0 a type VII u-boat will get over 21,000 nautical miles of range at 10 knots, and it will go much farther at slightly slower speeds. You will almost always run out of torpedoes before you run out of fuel. The only way you will run out of fuel is if you try to sail all the way around the globe.

They show up first in Las Palmas and, a bit later, at Cadiz. Both in Sept-Oct 1939.

But you never need to run out of fuel. Cruise at 8 knots and you have 100+ days of fuel available in an VIIB. (and if you are in II boat, you aren't designed to leave the North Sea.).

Besides fuel, you get new "fish" and repairing any damage to the boat

Tessa 11-01-10 07:13 PM

Don't forget that your u-boat comes equipped with its own warp drive that can't be damaged no matter much of a beating you take. Just hit the ESC key and choose exit patrol; Capt. Piccard mysteriously shows up in the command room and say, "make it so" and you're back in port. :arrgh!:

We really should fix it so you can't do that.
:hmmm:
As an optional JSGME enabled mod of course!
The 'DID' crowd might be interested?

Or maybe just make it so you cant do it outside of say 100km from base, or whatever is appropriate at the time. Running back into Kiel from either the canal or the long way, it's added time and your basically home anyways..... just a suggestion.

I'm looking at is as an easy yes or no switch we would need to change in a key file.
That would HAVE to be done by a patch file that only changed a value
in the original file.
If you have SH3?
It changes the file.
If you don't have SH3?
It deletes your entire file system and calls the FBI.
:har:

Hy Evreybody!!!:arrgh!:
Acording to the manual of GWX3.0 Gold MOD,pages:78 and 79.What I try to do It´s only refueling my U-boat.
Page 78:"....If you whant to be "historical" then you should limit your resupply operations to historically available items when you dock whith u-Tankers and supply ships."
http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/503...mg23102010.jpg

So I´m gonna try what tessa suggested to do:" Just hit the ESC key and choose exit patrol; Capt. Piccard mysteriously shows up in the command room and say, "make it so" and you're back in port."

Thank you all for your help.

Can't sail all the way around, because the Earth is flat. You'll fall off the edge first. :dead:

save fuel and more

I always sail slow ahead(6 knots) surface

when day break, i dive till red light blink, charge the boot, and sail till day break, and so on.

it save on fuel big time, if nothing come between, i can reach marrocco with a VII type boot, without using a milkcow

NightCrawler 11-02-10 10:49 PM

on torps

im not a trigger happy person that shoot 4 torps spread angle at the same time, i go after big ships in convoy, untill got bothered by a tribal, last mission sunk 2 tribals and 1 hunt class, there was 1 hunt class left but my crew was irritated and left the convoy, total tonage 43.000 second patrol 1940 with IX boot.

I have to think this is less efficient than running on diesel the whole way.

First, your not storing 100% of the energy (realistically speaking, not sure how SH3 models this). Most modern engines are only like 30% efficient to start with, now you add another set of components (batteries and electric motors) to further decrease efficiency.

Secondly, up until the XXI, U-boats were more efficient on the surface, so running submerged to save juice doesn't make sense.

With the range we have, Wilmshaven to Morocco should be no problem runnign at 7-8 knots. I've been very tempted this career to take a stab at New York in my VIIb. Yeah, i'll have to use the cow in Newfoundland in both legs of the trip, but you could probably make it TO new york on one tank, but not much else.

But I'm not sure how the game models efficiency and such though. And if your talking evading detection by running submerged during the day, well that's another story altogether.

NightCrawler 11-03-10 02:28 AM

main reason

to avoid using milkcow will messed up my career, no medals, next mission is patrol grid null.

the only only you get when docking a milkcow is credit.

so doing a mission, and reach that grid and make home is mission complete.

beside i will use a milkcow only in case of emergency

Osu, it's just like Yoriyn first said. But if I were you I wouldn't worry about the fuel. What you are going to need is gooooooood batteries. When you want to sail through Giblartar you should rather be positive about that. It's going to be a hard-core there.

Yep...a fully charged battery bank and submerge when you have to (for Co2 reasons)...you'd never get through on the surface.

So if you reach the grid and then return to base "manually" (no using the option "exit from patrol") gives you more renown?.
Because I use this option always (maybe I misunderstood).
