Imo Iran is alright North Korea is another story.:hmmm:
I've a feeling they will befriend US sooner or later . . . . . They're not as bad as some people would imagine. Their urban young are idealistic, patriotic, modern and friendly to the west! Great things could come to Iran if their elite are willing to allow change bit by bit. Of course Israel would want the world to believe otherwise. |

If they were, Iran would be the natural friend to the west in the region. Persia was lost when the Arabs invaded and destroyed Zoroastrianism and the great culture it represented. |
The old farts running Iran today will one day die and a new generation will take power.

In my opinion relation between US and Iran will get warmer in the short or medium future. Give it ten years to see if this opinion is true or otherwise :D Iran population is unlike Iraq really. Iraqis had been subjugated through intimidation by Saddam dictatorship for decades and lost the ability for critical thinking. Iran's population is in far better situation.:DL I have opinion why Iran is doing what it is doing or raving what it is raving and .....(I better keep this opinion to myself)...the signs are good I just want to say that |

I would not knock "old technology". :nope:
Consider what the Afghans did to the Russians in the 1980's with "old technology" Consider what Iran did to Iraq with "old technology" in the 1980's Consider what Iraq did to the US with "old technology" during the Invasion of Iraq. It is dangerous to underestimate what a motivated enemy can do to you with "old technology". :yep: It does not matter much whether you are killed with a 2010 Hell-fire missile or killed with a bundled WWII ordnance IED. :nope: It is not about the technology but the motivation of the soldier to his or her cause that wins battles. |

nice try, our military is Set up for a ground war vs. another nation. not gurilla activities. Iran would be toast. All the motivation in the world won't stop that hellfire from destroying your tank. |

Your point is valid, though. Those forces never actually tactically won a single major battle against their better equipped and trained enemies, they inflicted damage simply by continuing to exist and harass the enemy over prolonged periods of time. The French were under the impression that motivation won battles in 1914 as well and it did not do them much good. |
