Sailor Steve 09-29-10 09:20 AM

Another submarine? We've seen submarines! Where's the starships? :O:
:rotfl2:

Great shots. I'm really hating the housing policy that didn't let me come.

Jimbuna 09-29-10 01:20 PM

Any more shots of her?

She looks in pretty good nick http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...s/thumbsup.gif

Takeda Shingen 09-29-10 01:46 PM

Penguin 09-30-10 06:57 AM

thanks for the pix!

What is this weird structure at the stern in the last picture supposed to be? My guess would be that it was attached after the boat went out of operation.

Gerald 09-30-10 07:27 AM

Great pictures, again

Prop guard maybe?

Sledgehammer427 09-30-10 11:10 AM

that would definitely be a prop guard.
it would keep the screws from swinging into the wharf.
also, to keep from sucking in nets and mine cables.
I've seen similar guards on battleships and destroyers.

Penguin 09-30-10 12:15 PM

thanks August & Sledge! :salute: I haven't seen this on any other photos of balao subs.

:yep:

You can see one on my old ship on the JP Kennedy thread.

Beautiful pics! Still floating. I wonder if her engines still run?:hmmm:

What city is she docked at?

Sledgehammer427 10-02-10 05:12 AM

well, if the engines still run, they are going to have trouble a couple of them up.
Our very own Ivank flooded them.:D
I talked him out of flipping the lever all the way over to the start position. But I'm sure that they thought of that way in advance.

Lionfish is located in Fall River, Massachusetts (the one state everyone misses on their spelling quizzes )
along with a plethora of other ships

First thing in any military equipment activation checklist that I've ever seen is to make sure every switch and lever is in the starting or off position so disaster may be averted! :DL
