Do me a favor..
Pray for my mom. She had a stroke, yesterday, and the next 3-5 days will be touch and go for her survival. It can't hurt!!
|
Oh man, certainly many good thoughts coming your family's way from my direction. Hope she pulls through okay. Keep us posted when you can.
{{{{hugs}}}} |
All the best thoughts to your family. I really hope she pulls through!

I echo all the best in thoughts and prayers for your mother and your family.

Sorry to hear this news. We will pray for a good recovery.
|
Prayer sent. along with my best wishes for her health. I'll continue to pray for her swift and total recovery. I forgot this time, but I'll also be sure to include prayers to help you and your family through this difficult time.
I'm sorry this circumstance has befallen you and yours, TvM. |
Keeping fingers, toes and eyes crossed for you and your mother
Stay strong for your mother and take care of yourself too. :yep: |
I will pray and think all the best,
for you and your family!
|
As an agnostic, with a heavy tendency towards atheism, I don't pray, but I'll have you and your mom in my thoughts.
I lost my father about 1.5 years ago to a stroke and I know where you are now. I hope your mother will get healthy again. |
You and her are in my thoughts and prayers.
|
I will make dua (prayer) for your mum and and you over the next few days. Take care and hang in there.

Bugger, thats a tough one.
Good luck. |
Well, she's made it this far. It's still up in the air as to her survival. A couple of days ago her heart was galloping along at very high pulse rates, but that stabilized. I guess you could call her condition "critical, but stable."
Even if she does make it, she will still have some deficits on her left side. There's a chance she'll ALMOST make it back to normal, though a slim one. At least she'll still be able to speak and write w/her right hand. |
Addendum: Blue Cross/Blue Shield sent us a letter DENYING payment for her first ICU stay in May, after a first letter approved it. As it is a military ICU, we still won't have to pay, but can you imagine what extra strain this would put on a family? Why would people support a health care industry which pulls crap like this over reform?
|
Thanks for the update - glad to hear she is still hanging in there.
As for the insurance... aargh. At least you don't have to worry about getting stuck with a huge bill. I know from experience that sometimes the big insurers are pretty much programmed to deny certain things even if it violates the member's policy to do so. At my job we've had insurance phone reps admit that they do it. Enough people will let it slide because they don't want the hassle or don't know any better and the insurer gets out of paying for something that should be covered. So if you've got the stomach for it, fight 'em anyway and make 'em pay if there are benefits due. It's not like they're gonna let it slide if somebody misses a premium payment. |
She is in my prayers, brother.
