Steel Armor: Blaze of War announced
Upcoming Cold War era game by Graviteam, developers of Steel fury. Featuring T-62 and M60A1 :)

This is good news! Frinik mentioned this a while ago, good to see Graviteam still going at it!
I'll sticky this if there are no objections  |
Another WWII sim Successor to SF
And the other piece of good news is that Graviteam is still committed to making another WWII tanksim based on the Battle for Kharkov of August 1943 and using the improved game engine of Achtung Panzer. This is for release some time next year( in my opinion the latter half of 2011 perhaps September).:yeah:

Looks like it's built on an improved version of the Steel Fury engine.
I can already see modders putting in M1A1's and creating some interesting scenarios. the name is a little generic, but honestly, if the gameplay is going to be a more refined Steel Fury-like approach, and the graphics are that good looking, I think I can forgive an uninspired title. |
Game Engine
Actually the game engine is based on Achtung Panzer which is a step ahead of Steel Fury. The game play looks good and the graphics and special effects improved over SF's .What remains to be seen is whether the AI will be as good as what it is in Achtung Panzer.Looks like SB may have a little competition...

ZeeWolf |
definitely!
but what had me drooling was the interiors :o when do we get to see the inside of the Patton? There was one about 20 mins away from where I lived on display. :D |

Excellent!
Can't wait for the release :salute: |
|
Bravo!
Very impressive Hemul(Panzerschlange) I think Graviteam is definitely on the right track with this!
A question. Will the Mission Editor of Blaze of War be as easy to use as the one for Steel Fury? |

Could you confirm "Steel Armor: Blaze of War" English version is out as digital download?
http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-SABW/st...r-blaze-of-war If so I will buy it right now. I prefer modern tanks over World War II ones. I think it would be a good idea for Graviteam to think about payware mods or next tank-sim featuring modern tanks like M1A2 Abrams, Challenger-2, Leclerc, Leopard-2A6, T-64BM, T-84, T-90. I know modeling today's tanks electronics, fire control systems, thermal vision, advanced armor and so on is a challenge but you guys are on a right track to overcome monopoly of Steel Beast Pro overpriced oldie! |

I have it and enjoy it though it has a few wrinkles, the most annoying is the AI always see you hiding in trees etc and the ai driver loves to turn around to retreat. That said, a good game and well worth playing if SP is you're only interest, there is no mp and mp is of low importance it seems as Andrey (dev) has said on Simhq |
SABoW
Well in TvsT the AI seems to have X ray eyes as well.I think thye are prerparing a patch to take care of that. That being said, from what I read in SABoW the AI is fairly good and you have a battle generator which can partly make up for lack of MP.Graviteam may eventually make an MP patch but it's not their priority simply because MP demands a lot of online support which as a small outfit they are unable to give...
