Workmen paint white lines around dead badger

No this is not a joke, but is for real.

As for not been trained to remove the carcass, that just beggars belief.

What a bunch of jobsworths!:o

I wonder how the training manual reads for dead badger removal?

Castout 07-16-10 04:05 AM

That's a rolled badger kind of hard to remove with bare hands unless equipped.

Understandable from my point of view but the workmen should have alerted others to get some utility. At least they didn't paint it over the carcass.

How very British :nope:

I wasn't having a go at you, I'm just annoyed by this sort of stuff.

Murdered?

There is suspicion of foul play here. No doubt the CSI team will be on the scene shortly.

Jimbuna 07-16-10 06:19 AM

Possibly the only positive on the matter.

The county council said there would be no extra cost to taxpayers because the company was being paid a fixed rate for the job.

The line painting union doesn't allow them to touch a biohazard carcass.

The carcass remover union requires that any carcass no be in the middle of the road unless the road is closed by another union—that will not close a road with a dangerous carcass on it til it is removed ;)

I am not defending those who knew it was there and didn't move it. However, here in the states, the lines are often painted by a truck - the guy just drives down the road and occasionally looks in the mirror to make sure he is in the right spot. He is not looking for hazards - and like the tree picture - when he does - he likely has to go "oh crap" and go around. A single person doesn't have the tools or equipment on a paint truck to resolve that.

Just know there can be decent reasons for things that look like screwups.
