[REL]Kurfürst's Schnelltauchback
 
It's named for the Guy that wanted it so bad!

This is the first release.
There are a few issues that I want to fix but feed back will help
to find some I may be missing.
It's set up for JSGME of course.
You get a slightly faster dive time with this Mod.
I did not edit the Basic config to disable external torps yet.
There are extra wakes I'll add in the next release.
All the Caustics I wanted to enable are not done.
Look at the front tubes.
One side has caustics the other does not.
The difference is stand out.
To many Caustics may cause a stutter when used.
If you get that?
I'll create 2 versions.
1 with,
1 without.

Let me know what you think so I can improve this as needed.

SH3 is becoming the best sub sim ever. The Silent Hunter 3 team, GWX team, you and many others are giving us a variety of different types of subs and mods that are making it even more awesome. Thank you all :woot:

Remember now,
this is the First Release and it's not quit finished as to a few
issues in the 3D Model work.

They may be small issues many might miss,
but they are going to be addressed.

Plus the Caustics need finished.

Permission to do whatever you want is granted to all
provided it retains the name
Kurfürst's Schnelltauchback
in the title.

Rather than start a new thread for this i think perhaps its better to leave it within Privateer`s original thread, that way all the variations of this superb mod are in the same place,

From the readme:
Kurfürst's Schnelltauchback by Privateer, lightmaps & 2d gfx pack
-Adds lightmap textures to the sub model, also tweaks the 2d menu images of the sub to represent the alterations to the model.

Enable via jsgme

Schnelltauchback model used with kind permission of the original author Privateer.

Does the lightmaps work with every tower? Actually i use the second tower of an IXc. During enabling only "Turm9c-1hd.dat (from Anvarts flag&Pens Mod) will be overwritten.
Is there a possibility to alter the image of the sub into the Personal/repair Station also?

Just d/l the last update by Flakmonkey and I'm getting some weird things in the torpedo tubes :hmmm: Apparently, they are flat black and the animation of the external door, while working, does not show correctly the doors. Any ideas what is missing? :doh:

P.D. Not a big deal, as you must cheat and use external camera, but the revised model is so gorgeous that it would a shame not to :D

Oh, and yes the quicker dive times really are noticeable! A very good mod to increase survavibility of the IX in late war campaigns :up:

I noticed the same blackness in different areas.
Maybe those parts are not mapped properly?
:hmmm:

But seeing as we're all just getting going on this Mod
There's bound to be a few fixes to take care of.

I'm still waiting for Kurfürst to see this release.
He's had a pre-release for awhile but the model was missing some faces and had holes in the Hull.
:o

And the sim I up loaded with this mod is not correct.
the Ballast setting is way to high as I was doing some testing and forgot to reset it.
:nope:

But that's what the first release is for!
To find the 'OOPS! OH S***!' stuff.

Hello Privateer,

first, let me thank You for your great Schnellltauchback Mod!

It´s really excellent, and I feel deeply honoured with calling it Kurfürsts Schnelltauchback :oops:!
It looks great and was worth all the waiting.

I noticed the same problems as mentioned above with the pre-release version.
The bow tube doors seem to be missing, the same is with the stern tube doors. There is also a kind of "hole" in the hull, just in front of the stern tubes.
I couldn´t spot any black areas on the hull.

I´m sure these are only little things!

Hmm, the black areas sound like they were probably introduced by me, that old ID issue when playing around with the meshes.
It shouldnt have affected the torpedo doors though as i didnt attempt to lightmap them. Nevertheless, i`ll take a look and see what i screwed up.

+A6Intruder- Nope its just turm 1 at the moment.
