Did you have the talk with the Captain? If so, have you refitted your sub? Finally you need to speak to what I believe is a admiral for your new orders.

I think I have already completed operation "British coastal water".
After I completed the last patol mission of Operation Weserubun : http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=165870 http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pict...pictureid=1570 http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/pict...pictureid=1562 |
Well this does look pretty wierd, you have an "Ace" rating, yet as far as I can see you haven't completed a single mission. In the first training mission "Invasion of Poland" the only incomplete objective is to dock at Kiel, so did you navigate to Kiel dock there?
Now, the only thing I can think of is that you have been just starting the patrols without actually selecting the missions first. Explain just what you are doing when communicating with the base commander, what options are you selecting when the dialog opens. |
Was this not one of the problems associated with running the non OSP version?

Not saying the threadowner has a cracked version but i would think there is a problem with the OSP and the launcher. Try uninstall the game. Whipe out remaining dirs in documents and program files, then install it again. Might help. |
Well i have the exact same problem, and each and every time i start or load a campaign game, i get a message telling me my internet is down, which it isn't.
Needless to say my copy of SH5 is legit, i bought it from gamesload.fr. I tried re-installing, of course, but it wouldn't work, i then tried re-downloading the files using gamesload download manager and reinstall, with no better results. I'm thinking maybe it could be a problem with windows registry or the serial key being used by another person? But then, how comes the ubi launcher connects fine in the first place? I hope we can solve this problem quickly, because i'm actually beginning to enojy sh5, thanks to all the mods found here! Salute! Louis. Here's a link to another thread about same issue: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=165373 |

I 'll have to wait or give it up
what is OSP? what is DRM? Thanks! |
I must tell you guys, I am having the same problem. My only completed mission is invasioan of Poland, the rest, CANT! that boody bar not moving 1 inch!
So.. I know some crack games having this probem but also seen some blogs saying they have original... So, I think this happens both at original and copy ones. |
DRM is the large category of copy protection schemes called "digital rights management" which is what allows you to rent downloadable movies that automatically expire, share X amount of iTunes music, etc.
OSP is the name of the specific example of DRM that UBI is using with SH5 and AC2 games. The reason why the non-OSP version of SH5 doesn't update missions properly has to do with the fact that save game progress involves interacting with the OSP service to change some save game values. Note this has nothing to do with whether the "online saves" are used or not. Offline saves still require this OSP interaction. This interaction can fail for several reasons, including: 1. Read/write permissions too restrictive for the necessary file changes. May be caused by Vista/Win7's method of protecting user files. 2. Firewall or other selective connectivity program preventing necessary Internet traffic with the OSP service. Even if OSP appears to work enough to start the game, it might not work 100%. 3. Cracked versions of the game that bypasses OSP completely, preventing the necessary save game file interaction. |
