Got mine in uk! Installing now
Shopto delivered 5 mins ago! Anyone with borderline specs keep an eye on this thread as I have a single core sempron 2ghz , 3gb ram and a hd4200 igp in my laptop.
I can run sh4 at medium with enviroment and post process on at 30 fps average. |
gonna be interesting!
 |
what videocard is the hd4200 comparable to?
|
Weaker than Geforce 8600 I think, in other words not very good.
|
Thanks DoomLordis,
I will be interested to hear how it runs as I too have a borderline system: 1.8 Gig Core2Duo Processor, Nvidia 8500GT Card and 2 Gig DDR2 ram. SH4 runs about 28FPS with Environment and Post-processing filters. Forget about volumetric fog though. |
Yes, please let us know how you get on. My rig is old spec too:
3Ghz P4 ATI x1650pro 512MB 3GB Ram Soundblaster Audio Card Thanks. Nemo |
i want my game today
yesterday i calt my local game store en they said to day you can get your game im walking to the store and they where closed because there was broken in now i must wait for tomorrow:down::nope:
|
Closed because someone broke into the store? :o
Crime  |
They probably stole all the copies of SH5, those things are like gold dust :O:
|
Bad news , THE SEA IS MISSING! the game runs smooth but there are no textures for the sea or land, all ships and dock / buildings are there and the sub inside is intact just no sea!
|
have you tried updating your graphics card drivers?

Latest ATI drivers installed, am trying a reinstall of game to the x86 program files location as it stuck the game in the root!
SH4 works perfectly? |
Sorry for your troubles. I'm sure you'll resolve it by the end of the day.Try rolling back the card drivers. Sometimes the newer ones don't work as good. SH5 shares alot of build with SH3.

Check it versus the minimum required specs ( + the list of supported video cards). |
who need sea when you have submarine and smart crew :yeah:
|
Lol yeah, I hear the Navigator's special abilities include being able to navigate through a three-dimesional void with no stars to steer by. Atleast, that what it says on the official Silent Hunter 5: Battle for the Atlantic Website :D
|
I suspect the video memory on your hd4200 isnt helping, maybe worth checking the BIOS to see if it can be set to 256MB or more.
|
Ok, good news and bad news, moving the install location appears to have worked , bad news is this game runs slow on my rig, between 15 and 30 fps in low settings. It is a much harder game to run than sh4.
I wonder if it utilises hypermemory or not , my card is 256mb dedicated but I have 3gb ram that it should be able to dip into. Gta 4 has a command line to tell it to use unrestricted memory and I went from 20fps to over 40fps ( at medium settings) , could really use that jump. On another subject , I don't know how to play this game! It's far removed from 3 + 4 ! |
Its good news that it runs on your system, i was worried about it running on mine.
my specs :- Athlon64 3500+ HD4870 1gb 4gb ram windows XP pro 32bit |
