But seriously, don't everyone have to find it out sometime in his life? It's not like some kid, after reading this, will walk straight to the nearest girl and ask if she wants to give him a blowjob:doh: |

I bet you all that this woman never gave head in her whole life. :haha: |
Yeah, I noticed it wasn't the word "sex" that caused the uproar, but "oral sex."
Would not be surprised to find out that she is affiliated with or a member of a fundamentalist religious group/denomination that, either overtly or otherwise, teaches that sex is for procreation only (which means anything other then PIV is dirty, sinful, and wrong*). Heaven forbid it should also be done for the purposes of intimacy or just plain ol' enjoyment. *but only if you do it right - there, I said it for you already! |
Surprisingly enough, we have alot of religious wacko's out here. It's all about upholding their beliefs and protecting the little snow flakes.
Another sterling example, is how kids aren't allowed to dress up for holloween anymore at my kid brothers elementary school because some christian lady threw a big fit about it being a "pagan holiday". Anywho, its no surpise that "oral sex" in a dictionary caused a stir. Hell, id be surpised if sex by itself didn't cause an issue. edit: Quote:

What I don't understand here in the U.S. (and I've been living here for over 10 years now) why there is such an emphasis on pleasing minority groups?
It goes completely against common sense: Because ONE person disagrees/is offended by such-and-such and WHOLE SCHOOL WORTH of parents doesn't care, LET'S BAN IT. Are you ****ing insane? BTW @frau_kaleun: what the heck is PIV? :D |

First of all, "I" stands for "In." "P" stands for something you would put In something else. "V" stands for the something else you would put it In. This configuration is generally the one that results in conception of a child, if no preventive measures have been taken. |

Hmmm.
Why is "oral sex" in any dictionary? I don't ask this due to the implications, but because "oral sex" is 2 words. A dictionary is supposed to define 1 word at a time. It should have defined "oral", and it should have defined "sex". It should not have combined 2 words, and given a definition. Oddly enough, Websters is at the top of my s__t list, because they don't list, what seems like, half of the words in the english language. Unless of course, you say them in french, then the same word is quite acceptable?! The only english language dictionary I use is The New Oxford American Dictionary, which comes from England. (Thank you England, for a non-PC, REAL dictionary, with ALL the words!) Prior to finding that I had to look up words in a english/danish dictionary. I highly recommend it. Although I do think the school was idiotic(idiodisk) for removing the dictionary, I was one of the 3% that voted "parents should have the right to censor books" (at least for their own child). Why? Because schools should be controled by the community, not the other way around. And parents should have some control over what gets pumped into their childrens' minds. |
