1.4Playable ships and Modding questions
 

Hey all, I've been fooling around with different playable subs, most notably the Foxtrot/November mod, the Ohio and Seawolf Mods and the Typhoon and RedOctober Mods

All of these are for 1.4 of course.

My four questions are..

Out of the SH4 Mods section, there is a list of playable submarines, which are for 1.4 and which are for 1.5

Secondly, I've tried using the Typhoon in Campaign however it is unable to let me do this, only in single mission or war patrol.. how do I manage to Change the files to let me play in Campaign?

Also, in the Typhoon/RedOctober/Foxtrot+November Mods, they change the submarine, but do not change the loadout. My wonder is that, in the Ohio/Seawolf Mods, the modders have added the Mk48 ADCAP, and in the case of the Ohio Mod, the Tomahawk. Is it possible to simply copy these files into the weapons files and add these torpedos to the Foxtrot+November mod/Typhoon?

Finally, what are the surface mods that are compatible with 1.4?

I know for a fact that there is a Skipjack, Ohio, and 688i(not Seawolf :O:) for 1.4. I haven't tested the others to see if they are 1.4 compatible or not. Wouldn't take much work to make them that way if you know what you're doing.

As for putting the Mk 48 and TASM in with the other boats it could be done but I'm far to intoxicated right now to explain it. I'll try to explain this in the morning.

As for compatible surface mods I would say any American ship should be 1.4 compatible. But I have yet to test this myself.

Two more things... While browsing last night I happened on the WIP Cold War Mod.. In it were pictures of an Oscar II and other such submarines. If anyone has the files or the D/L link, can they post it ? Main contributors to the page were Sledgehammer and Dagon

Secondly.. this is a personnal to you ETR, would you be able to convert your 688i mod from1.5 to 1.4 compatible?

Subs such as the Oscar hasn`t been released, yet.

I'm working on putting the readme for a 1.4 688i together today and I think that's all I have left before I release it.

Karle; is the Oscar II, Juliet, Echo, Hotel and Golf classes still under work for the Cold War Mod? Or is that Mod dead in the water? If it is would you kindly ask the modders if they've got the models left over to upload them? I'd love to be able to cruise around in any of those subs

I`m not up to speed on the Cold War Mod, but I think it`s pretty much dead.

Yeah, there's not much left of it now. I was a team member, and everyone involved just kinda dropped off the map.
--Dagon-- made all of the Nuke subs, but I enabled them to be played in campaign mode.
I always had CTD problems with the Red October, so I just gave up on it and let someone else pick up the torch.

Were the CTDs Campaign related?

nope. I would try to load a single mission and it would crash, but it's been a very long time since I got it, and I never play stock so I just moved on.

Sledge, Dagon, or Karle...

Any chance that you coud release what you have? Even if its only for Single Mission or Campaign.. I'll take anything. Though in the cold war mod section I did see pics of a Oscar (I believe it was) from the russian forum.

Ok, so just to make sure.. the only Russian subs that are playable atm are the Foxtrot, November, Typhoon/RedOctober? If there are more plz post the link

Plus, I saw Silver's Kraken ship.. is he finished or what's the deal there? I'd love to play that monster

Lastly, how to mod the ADCAP torps into the typhoon mod, etc

The russians did finish the 688i.

Do any of you guys know if there is a SH4 vicxtor class mod sub for 1.4? If so can i get the link please?

As far as I know, there is no Victor Class sub.
