Ive seen something similar last year in my hometown port administration building, though it was much more sophisticated (spl?) this is quite cool !!! I never suspected things like that could be left to the public.

DaveU186 07-05-09 04:51 PM

That's very very cool. Just look at the channel. :o

Tried tracking my lads vessel Zim Shenzhen, sailed from Tarragona (Italy) on 4th heading across the Atlantic to Halifax (Nova Scotia)....a definite convoy route.

Any sightings, please report.

Nice piece of kit.....beats schedule printouts anyday. http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...s/thumbsup.gif

Could you imagine the excitement of knowing not only the size of the tanker (100,000+ tonnes), but also the location, speed and final destination of these ships ahead of time.

jimbuna, Zim Shenzhen went through Gibraltar yesterday so, we won't see it again till it reaches Halifax. Do you know when it is scheduled to arrive there?

This info is very much appreciated, what programme and how do you go about tracking the bugga?....Mrs. Buna (Ann) will now have me on a high alert status nearer the expected arrival at Halifax date :DL

bert8for3 07-07-09 08:45 AM

Very interesting, thanks for posting both links. I wasn't aware that there was publicly-available live tracking.

HW3 07-07-09 02:34 PM

Jim, it is all part of the link in the first post. I switched to vessels, search all, pasted in Zim Shenzhen and clicked search, then clicked on Zim Shenzhen, then on the left side of the screen located this

and clicked on the Itineraries history link. You can then see its route if you click on the Show on Map link.

Edit: Or, as I just discovered, click Itineraries History above, it takes you right there.
