Game Got Expensive all of a sudden.

Just a humorous note guys.

I tethered my cellphone to my laptop to down load Gwx gold, because it is way faster than normal. I have a 5 gig plan, so I was in the clear data wise. I then downloaded all my mods. Total usage was 4.4 gig. That is still below my 5 gig limit before I have to pay the over usaage fee of $.25 per mb. So, I thought no problem I'm still good. That is the only usage I have had, so I'm good to go.

I just got my cell phone bill, they charged me $9284.58. :hmmm:

Customer Service here I come.

Jimbuna 06-01-09 05:35 AM

WTF! :o

I wish you luck

Betonov 06-01-09 06:13 AM

Damn, if my phone bill is more than €20 (about 22$) I'm pissed.

I doubt that you'll achieve anything with customer service, they're sneaky little bast... out of marriage children

Good luck

Oh... :o my... :o god :o!

If I got a bill like that the first thing I would have had to do is clear all the watery s##t from the floor, due to instant slackening of the bowel!

Good luck with that

All is O.K.

Gave them a call and asked them what the hell.....and they fixed it.
I guess that I sighned up for access just before they cut my bill, so I had used the internet without billing knowing that I had the plan. So they billed me $.25 per mb. They seemed like this happens all thee time.

Oh yeah...They gave me a free month of access for my worry.

I think that I would have dropped dead out of shock if I saw a bill like that! You were lucky that they agreed to fix the error right away.

I would have re-directed my U-33 to their headquarters.

Don't forget that this wasn't an error. Sorry mate, in XXI century it's impossible. Heck, even C64 would be enough to deal with a simple database.

This is a common practice in Poland - when you can screw a consumer, do it. Some people would notice, complain and that's ok, the company doesn't loose (let's face it - when you choose an offer, sign the deal etc. you don't want to do it again anywhere soon). But some people won't notice they are being screwed or the amount of money would be too small for them to worry.

And that's precisly when the company cashes-in.

It happened to me lately when I signed a deal with ISP. They were double-billing me, even after my complaint. This is for 100% done on purpose.

This reminds me of a insurance companies, nr 1 rule there is - always reject first claim. Then reject another. Only pay when a client is extremely devoted to getting his money.

And to think that some insurances are forced by the law...

Well, that's my two cents. Cheers.

Glad it worked out Mate..........Or you'd be crying for a loooong time......:wah: :wah: :wah:

Get in touch with one of our MPs and see if they'll stick in an expenses claim for you.

I refuse to believe that this is just plain, uncommon stupidity. Note how the woman stopped for a second when faced with a question whether she recognises the difference between 0.002$ and 0.002c. I think she realised her company made an error in adverisement / offer / signed deals and she opted to cover that mistake.

Despite that, this is just sad.

I mean... what's the point of public education if grown-ups cannot do a task average 7yo should be capable of?

={FH}=Paddy 06-02-09 04:27 AM

Phew - glad it worked out for ya mate and a free month to boot; geil! Did they also send you some new underwear and jeans for the bilge pipe spillage; caused upon initially reading the bill?!!!
:DL

Pisces 06-02-09 05:20 AM

Glad to hear you got that sorted out. But I'd never... ever... (anymore  ) would use my cellphone to download stuf from the net. I still remember the bills I had around '00/'01 after downloading just a few MB per month @ 14k4 baud. (yes, pretty old cellphone modem) Not as bad as yours. Just a few hundred dutch guilders at the time. (2.20371 guilders became a euro) But on my student allowance that was painfull.

Sgtmonkeynads 06-02-09 06:27 AM

What got me was that their math was't even right.
Even if I did used their access and paid full price my bill should have "only" been $1112.50 plus my $80 regular charge.

Idiots, like I wouldn't notice the change or something.
