Cryengine 3 on the console
Why test it on a console or why even go there :hmmm:. Wheres the PC version!
Cryengine 3 demo video http://gdc.gamespot.com/video/620697...emo-video?hd=1 |
Noooooooooo! :wah:
Et tu, Crytek? :( |
Heh we knew that was coming for a while now after they whined about the sales for the game not being so good (what did they expect with a game that most computers can hardly run, let alone run well).
Of course now they can't use the excuse that our computers suck if it runs like crap on consoles :O: |

Something just smacked me up side the head - if there is more than one Universe, would we still call it 'universe' and not multiverse? :06: -S |
And the ship was a giant power sink; all the energy (and presumably radiation) got soaked up and caused that sphere to expand.

What's the point in faithfully buying games if they just bring the next installment to consoles. I should demand my money back. :S |
I heard down the grape vine that MS is trying to push gaming out of the PC altogether & Windows 8 will no longer cater for them,:hmmm: that would suck.

*shows EA beautifull graphics and effects in a sandbox editor* EA: Good, now the game is finished tommorow. Developers: But....story, gameplay..and and.. EA: TOMMOROW! HunterICX |

EDIT: Ow you forgot one part EA: And remember the game needs to get E for everyone rating! Devs: But... you do remember this game's about the Manson family? EA: Yes yes! Just replace the blood with flowers or something... you're the devs, come up with something. |
What's the big whoop about this anyway?
CryEngine 3 is only the 3 edition of the Crysis engine and it just so happens that it's specifically for the consoles. Just means that the PC will get engine version 4. As for scaling down the gfx, physics and effects, that demo doesn't look to shabby.....so in your face you non console owners.:O: |

Danlisa, I'm not so sure. A while back Crytek was moaning about piracy and how they would move to consoles. Getting stuck with a console port would be less than ideal. :hmmm: |

Now, Crytek may or may not have made the move to curb the piracy but my opinion is that PC sales tanked and they need to recoup some costs and the easiest way is on the consoles. Having a port come to the PC isn't necessarily a bad thing. If Crytek have proved one thing it is that their engine is uniquely scalable. I wouldn't imagine that the PC version would suffer to much. At least not as bad as GTA4.:haha: I'll hold further opinions on this demo until I see full res ingame footage. Engine demos are always better than the final product. Damn hype. |
hmmm... I wish crytek would get a better publisher than evil arts.:yep:
And also, The pc version of crysis is always gonna be better... 1 It is highly modable. (look at all the mods/levels at crymod.) 2 sandbox editor. 3 more buttons for more options. 4 patches are easyer to get... just go to there download page, download, instal. I never have liked consoles. Everytime a new one comes out, you have to buy a new one. Quote:
